- her first competition was at aged 11 !!
Like many keen exhibitors and breeders I started off with a pet collie, Angus, who was not a show dog but started my keen interest in this beautiful breed.
As the children got older they often asked for a dog and finally in 2003 we purchased Poppy (Karibuni Black Pearl at Uffspring) as a family pet.
A few months later Maisie arrived (Carristina Yuletide Glitta from Uffspring) and she became our first show dog.

Maisie did particularly well for me in 2004/5, being placed at virtually all open and championship shows attended and qualifying for Crufts where she won a 2nd place – at my first ever Crufts!
The collie’s wonderful, easy-going nature inspired me to breed and the rest is history.

Yvie followed in her mother’s footsteps winning 8xBP at open shows, 1 x pastoral puppy group 1, and other puppy group placings and qualified for Crufts on several occasions.Yvie’s temperament is second to none, especially with the children, therefore we mated her to Carriswillow Riot at Samhaven and retained a dog puppy Uffspring Untouchable JW.

We mated Gracie to Ch Lynmead Simply in my Soul and kept a puppy Daisy – Uffspring Until. Although a lovely example of a rough collie Daisy hated the show ring from day 1 and, despite getting
several first places at open and champ shows as a puppy, I decided to retire her from the show ring as it makes her so miserable!
Her first litter to Ch Robbie Williams of Samhaven resulted in only one puppy. Hopefully she will produce more next time!
From the same litter as Daisy Uffspring Utterly in my soul JW ShCM and Uffspring Unchained Melody JW ShCM are both owned, loved and shown by Dr Lynda Boyle – Barrenclough.
From a repeat mating we produced Uffspring Upon my Soul also owned by Dr Lynda Boyle.

Poppy and Gracie are both trained for agility, which they love, and we are hoping to compete in agility competitions before too long, as well as the breed shows – when we can find the time. They are also all bronze or silver KC Good Citizens and are register as PAT dogs. This just shows how versatile collies can be. |

Dougal – Uffspring untouchable JW was my first homebred junior warrant winner and was a marvelous showman from his first show at 6 months where he won minor puppy dog, puppy dog, maiden dog and was best puppy dog at East Anglia Ch show – what a star from day one. He went on to win his junior warrant at just over 12 months and ended with over 35 points before retiring to a pet home where he could bark to his heart’s content! |

Uffspring Unmistakeable (Henry)

On 29th December 2013 Uffspring Unmistakeable (Henry) was born. Sadly he was the only surviving puppy from a litter of 5 but what a character he has proven to be! His greatest love is agility but he has also achieved his kennel club good citizen gold award at only 10 months of age. |
I started training Henry for agility at just 6 weeks old and we intend to start competing as soon as we can find a suitable training club in rural Suffolk. |

Henry is a complete pain to show as he is so toy and play obsessed and never wants to stand still.
Despite this he has done really well in the show ring winning many firsts at championship show level, including a best puppy dog at an all breeds champ show, best opposite sex puppy in show at a collie open show and best puppy in show at an all breeds open show. He has the best temperament of any collie I’ve ever owned and we hope to have puppies from him in the near future.

After several years with no litters at all we then mated Uffspring Until (Daisy) to the wonderful Ch and Int Ch Chelborn Kiss ‘n Tell.
Out of the litter we kept Charlie – Uffspring Untold and Scarlet – Uffspring Unkissed.
Sadly this gorgeous pair are very unhappy in the show ring and much prefer to run around the paddocks at home! |

At the end of 2017 we welcomed a new colour to the Uffspring kennels, our first blue merle after many years of waiting! Samhaven Unique to Uffspring arrived from Alison Grainger at the Samhaven kennels.
This amazingly outgoing little girl has become our grandson, Tristan’s best friend and has had a super start to her show career.

Gracie – Yvie’s daughter (Carristina Femme Fatale del Uffspring JW – Ch Samhaven Toastmarster x Carristina Bonne Fille avec Uffspring) gained her Junior Warrant at just under 14 months of age. She has done a huge amount of winning for us including; 1st Junior – Leeds Ch show, 1st puppy bitch, 1st junior bitch and best puppy in breed at Richmond Ch show and 1st Junior, 1st yearling and 1st graduate at Collie Association Ch show amongst many other firsts at Ch shows and open shows, and best puppy and best of breed at open shows, as well as several group and puppy group placings. Yvie also gained her stud book number at Richmond Ch show.

My priorities for breeding are temperament, health and soundness; beauty is important but comes second only to these.
With this in mind Uffspring collies are hip, eye and MDR1 tested and puppies from the kennel will be eye tested at 7 weeks.
I am now a kennel club assured breeder.
All litters are extensively planned and the stud dog chosen with great care, aiming for excellent show dogs and superb family pets.
Our dogs are beloved family pets and puppies will be well socialized and brought up in the house with children and vacuum cleaners etc.
