Gwen, I read this passage and it made me think this is what you would have thought and said, '
Don't forget to laugh and when you do don't feel guilty because you are mourning me, Laugh because I am still with you, Laugh because I can hear you'.
My dearest Gwen will forever be in my heart Gill Blaikie x |
Dear Gwen you were so brave to fight your illness for so long, will miss our phone chats, your advice, the puppy visits and cuddles, but most of all will miss you my friend. My thoughts are with George and the boys at this sad time. Michele. x |

I know its getting a bit busy up there my dear but dont you lot be drinking that bar dry before I get there. God Bless...... see you soon xx Robin Blaikie |
George, Andrew, and Stephen, my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. You all have a lot of beautiful memories of times spent together as a very close family. Gwen will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Naomi McDowall. |
Our thoughts go to Gwen’s family at this difficult time. I’d obviously heard of Gwen’s name and affix, but living the other end of the country, didn’t meet her until she judged Collie of the Year in January this year. When I spoke to her after the judging, she had obviously thoroughly enjoyed her task and her knowledge and passion for the breed was plain to hear. She looked wonderful and I had no idea that she was poorly! A sad loss for Gwen’s family, friends and the breed. Val Setchell and Team Hanvale. |

Whenever the name of Gwen Hartley comes up, all I remember is how she made me laugh about everything! We travelled to judge together and we laughed all the way there and all the way home It will be difficult for all the family, but our thoughts are with you, Aileen and Carole and all at Antoc |
A truly inspirational lady, always smiling no matter what or how she was feeling, always finding the funny side of life and always had time for everybody, she will be surely missed, my deepest sympathies to all her family . Jane 'Collingvale' |

George, Andrew and Stephen, I am so sad that Gwen finally had to say good bye, her courage was truly inspirational and I shall always remember her as that warm and bubbly person who always made me feel welcome and who went that extra mile when she didn't have to. I will always be so grateful for the help, advice and support she gave me over the years. Take care of each other and I'm know she is watching over you. Anita and Bruce. |
On behalf of the Scottish Collie Club I would like to send our sincere sympathy and thoughts to George, Andrew and Steven at this sad time. Gwen served on the Scottish Collie Club Committee for more years than I can remember and during this time held the position of President and Secretary on more than one occasion and was an active committee member up to 2 years. ago and will be sadly missed. Gwen the committee meetings will never be the same especially the latter ones which to you was a day out and even ended up in the pub on one occasion. Knowing you Gwen you will probably be arranging a Collie show in heaven with the dogs that have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Rest In Peace..... Alyson Carmichael President |

Prayers and sincere sympathies to Gwens' family in your loss. Only time will soften the loss you bear, but may the sympathies of those who care about you give you strength and courage...Julie Growcott |
So very very sorry on hearing this news... having known Gwen since 1970’s... my only regret is one of not showing the rescue dog I got from her, not realising till recently I had his paperwork... beautiful animal. I do believe he was off gwen’s lines. But no doubt now they have been re-united and she will be having tons of collie cuddles from him.
You will be sorely missed Gwen. A super lady with lovely dogs and one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of knowing.
God Bless- sleep tight.xxx Robin Rycraft

Our deepest deepest sympathy to George and family at this very sad time. A lovely lady with a lovely smile, such very sad news to hear of losing her battle. She was so brave and so determined words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Malcolm and Wendy....Gemastra |
So so sorry to hear of Gwen's passing. We may not have always agreed over our respective collies, but she was always very knowledgeable and lovely to talk to. So pleased that the last time I saw her at BCC she was really enjoying her day and she loved my little Fizzy and we found common ground. Now she can argue with mum. Sorry God but you'll never get a word in. Condolences and best wishes from Miranda and all at Corydon |
We sadly hear that Gwen has pass away. We have good memories of Gwen and her family. Our kennel has started with a beautiful Roanburn bitch! We will never forget Gwen! Rest in peace! Henk & Alette Westerhuis Netherlands |
