Hi, my name is Brenda and like many of you of a certain age I fell in love with the Rough Collie due to watching Lassie. I was not allowed a dog as a child so when I got married in 1977 and saw in the local paper that a litter was for sale I just had to go and see them. Needless to say, I fell in love with a lovely big boy, spent most of my wages on him and got a taxi just to be vomited on as we reached home. His travel sickness lasted a good couple of years (no fun when my transport was busses). If I knew then what I do now I would have realized I had one very special boy but as Rory was a pet and I knew nothing of showing I wasted a good dog, but he was loved and a true family member. Due to life, I never got another dog till I was down in Tidworth (Wiltshire) when I got a Malamutes. At the time this breed was quite new to the country and was a joy to be around, especially a breed that loved being part of the family. Needless to say, I did most of the work with the dogs, showing and training them for racing. We were lucky to have Salisbury plains to walk and train on but as I moved up to Scotland and as my dogs got old and passed I wanted to go back to my first love, the Rough Collie. In 2008 I was lucky enough to get a lovely bitch from Dave and Sue Randall (Ladnar Stoned Love) she was a little angel, Then we got Hudson a handsome loving big boy with a heart ofgold that loved every one (Ladnar Arts and Crafts) In 2010 Flin came in to our life (Ladnar Perfect Time) a stunning blue merle and a year later Tilly my tri (Ingledene Swing the Kilt) joined us. She is a lovely big bitch, if not a very dominant one, that will protect her own. Our collie family grew and we were lucky enough to get Conall in 2015 (Karafaye Scotch Blend) from Lorraine Quince. A boy she wanted to keep herself, so I feel honored to have him. That brings me to our last family member is Harmony. A little girl I waited for, for quite a long time, a little lady with a fantastic nature towards other dogs and children. So Pat Corney I thank you for Yenroc Scottish Harmony born 2016. We do have a little monster in the shape of a long haired miniature dachshund the same age as Harmony, he keeps us all on our toes.
