Many apologies for the lack of notes last week, but we were dealing with an influx of water in the house. I am pleased to report that all the “inside” water has gone but much remains outside and around the village.

Now to catch up on the news, I have just received a short update from Jo Hodges (Jopium) to say that from Thursday 13th Feb, her new contact details are as follows: 1 Caledonian Avenue, Crawford, Biggar, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. ML12 6TX. Her email and mobile numbers remain the same but her new land-line number is 01864.603000, so update your address books now.

Doris McDade was quick to telephone some good news concerning her new puppy (Lyndale Illusion of Love), having won a class at the recent MCC show, she went to Guildford Open show, where, under a change of judge to Mark Cocozza she took BPIB & BOB. Then under the Group judge, Russell Jones (Quemerford) although nothing in the adult group, she took Pastoral Puppy G1, and to make the day perfect, Mark Cocozza awarded them BPIS – well done all

Jane Margetts has received KC confirmation of a JW for Lynmead Lemonade for Collingvale (Ch Jugband Blues du Clos de Sea-Wind via Aaronwell ex Lynmead Amalie Laced In Love (Re-Imp) and she was born 25th Nov 2018.

Miranda Blake and Roger (Corydon Pol Rodger) went out to Newark and came back with his first BOB from Judge Diane Mottram (Mybeards). There was a good entry for this show of Roughs, about 20 with just a few absent.  Roger won Junior (Mybeards) and then took a good 2nd place in the Hounds for heroes Stakes class. I just hope there are many bottles carrying his name in the “cellar” at Corydon for all the celebrations. I also understand that Gill Whitaker was also present with her Veteran lady, Jopium Magical Dream and she won 3rd in a large AV Pastoral Veteran class, rumour also has it that she also won her last points for a VW but this has yet to be confirmed by both the owner and the KC!

On Sunday London & Provincial held an Open Show at Bletchingly with Linda McCormick(Lynmack) judging Roughs and Yvonne McGrath (Seraphina)who judged an entry of 6 smooths with 1 absent
It was not a big entry of roughs with just 15 males and 18 bitches present.
Heading the males was Sophie Wray-Ramsden and Takhisis Dream Weaver who won an Open class of 2, taking RBD was Melissa Lockyer who won Limit(2) with Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj. BPD was Melissa and her homebred Gataj Struck By Lightening and Veteran was Trenley Tatenen at Hamisks for Terry Maxwell.
Bitches were headed by another belonging to Melissa, Gataj Girl’s Best Friend who won a PG class of 3 and taking RBB was Sophie and her Beldones Duchess of Dreams JW who stood alone in Open. Best Puppy bitch was Monica Wells and her Amalie Just Annie at Terelimon who headed the Puppy bitch class of 3.
Best Veteran bitch was Monica’s travelling companion, Jane Margetts, who won this class of 3 with Collingvale Crème Caramel JW.
BOB Rough went to the dog, (Takhisis Dream Weaver) with RBOB going to the bitch. BPIB to the dog puppy and BVIB to Jane.
I think the decision for BIS was agreed upon by both Linda and Yvonne and this was Takhisis Dream Weaver, RBIS was the smooth, Marianne Benton and Oakestelle Venus de Milo and the smooth puppy, Saraneth Edgedancer with Jane taking BVIS with Collingvale Crème Caramel JW.

Talking of Crufts, as there is no pre-judging of stakes classes in the rings following our breed judging, the Annual “ Bring and Buy” or Food celebration will hopefully take place after judging is completed, so remember to bring a full purse so that you can buy to eat, all in aid of Collie Rescue.
