Breed Notes 19th March
How do you report on what will be “Non-Events” as shows are cancelled or postponed? The answer is you cannot but I will try to keep all informed.
Back in 2001, when the dog game lost many supporters due to the Foot & Mouth, the effect of Covid-19 (Corona virus) may or will have a similar effect but we must all try and stay positive during this period as the situation changes not just daily but sometimes hourly and we must keep in mind those who may not able to cope with self-isolation so again, perhaps the BETTER sides of social media can play it’s part.
Let us all put aside any differences, don our helpful hats on and look after those most vulnerable. Shows may be cancelled/postponed, AGM’s, Seminars also but with a positive attitude for the future I am sure we will all come out the other side
There is a FB site: Show Updates and Cancellations UK which will cover many smaller shows but the main general Ch shows are also reviewing policy for those who have had had to cancel or re-arrange but I would point you all in the direction of the KC Policy concerning these. There is a detailed document outlining all aspects of this and a copy has been placed on our Collie-Life web site for access.
There is a difference between a show being cancelled and one being postponed/re-arranged. Perhaps it is also time we actually read the small print written in some show schedules concerning this as some societies may refund money or not.
I notice many sites offering help to those who are indisposed especially with regard to dog walking, obtaining dog foods and, of course anything required on the human side for the continuance of living. So, if you are in a position to offer help, however small, do please register
With many of us possibly being asked to stay away from events, maybe now is the time to go through all those photos and articles you have kept and maybe you would like to share for others to see.
Wishing you all the best health wise
