Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge the Rough Collie Dogs and the Smooth collies at this lovely open air Championship Show and for all the help from my friendly stewards. The weather was superb and I had a good entry of very nice dogs to judge. There is one thing I would like to draw attention to. A number of exhibits had plaque adhering to their teeth which can lead to infection. It can be removed with dental de-scalers which are easily obtainable and not that hard to use. Perhaps future grooming seminars could include this problem in their programs to show people how to deal with it.

VETERAN DOG 5
1st BVD & RBD RANDALL’S Ch LADNAR KINGFISHER JW Handsome 7 ½ yo Blue merle in very good shape. In full coat very well presented. Balanced conformation throughout, well proportioned head with well placed tipped ears, almond eye and correct stop all giving a very kind expression. Nice arched neck, good length of back, excellent shoulder and stifle angulation, depth of chest, rib cage and plenty of bone. Had a lovely profile when standing and showing and moved very well.
Pleased to award him the Reserve CC.
2nd JONES’ CAPRIOARA DIAMOND TREASURE 9 ½ yo jet black tricolour. Another very nice handsome dog in good condition, finer type to 1. Clean moulded head with good ear carriage, correct placement of eye and stop. Nice length of neck and back, depth of chest and rib cage and good angulation. A little unsettled but showed well enough and moved well.

MINOR PUPPY DOG 2 (1A)
1st BROOKER’S RIVERSIDE SONG A KIND OF MAGIC OVER CORISIAN (Imp) 8 mths old golden S/W stood alone. Nice looking puppy with balanced head and bodyshape, still a lot of growing to do to mature. Well placed tipped ears, and eye. Good length of neck, back and tail. Showed well but hesitant on the move and needs to strengthen at the rear.

1st & BPD MAXWELL & WALLIS’ TRENLEY TAVANAGH AT HAMISKS Stood alone. Very handsome youngster 11 mths old S/W with nicely proportioned head and body, correct ears and eye placement, good length of neck, angulation, length of back and tail. Needs to strengthen his hind leg muscles as he rolls a bit at the rear when moving. Showed very well.
JUNIOR DOG 6 (2A)
1st LUDLOW’S TUDORLYN MISTY DREAMS FOR MALINA Well marked S/W 17 ½ mths on the smaller side, nicely proportioned head to body. Balanced headshape with well placed tipped ears, almond eyes, good muzzle and bite. Nice lay of shoulder and bend of stifle, firm back and right amount of bone for size. Movement a little lethargic at times but adequate and showed well.
2nd COLLINO’S WICANI ALTITUDE AT IMAGINIST Well built good sized 14 mths old tricolour, very well presented but would prefer a slightly less heavy coat. Good head in balance with body, nice eye and ear placement but would like a little more stop. Has deep chest, well sprung ribs, good length of firm back and excellent bone. Moved and showed well.

1st BRAND’S TUDORLYN STARLIGHT EXPRESS S/W 171/4 mths old. Head in balance with body, correct placement of ears, eyes and stop. Correct angulation and length of body with right amount of bone fo size. Showed and moved OK but didn’t always track straight behind.

1st FRYER-CLARK, STANLEY & EVANS’ CAUSING A RIOT AT VONARKLE
Handsome and very nicely conformed 3 yo S/W with very nicely moulded head, good tipped ears, well placed almond eye, stop and well filled muzzle held on good length of neck. Ample width of chest and spring of rib, good angulation and bone. Showed well and moved very well.
2nd HANSON’S JARDS GRAND ATTRACTION Good size 2 ¼ yo shaded S/W Head nicely balanced with body. Well placed eyes, ears and stop but would like more tip to the ears. Good angulation, length of back with correct rise over the loins, enough bone and substance. Moved very well and though a little unsettled when showing, showed enough.

1st PRYOR’S AQUALITA DR NO Very attractive 1 ¾ yo S/W. Beautiful head, placement of ears and almond eye, set on nice length of neck. Good length of back with slight rise over the loins, correct shoulder and stifle angulation, nice depth of chest and spring of rib and bone. Very good movement with a nice lengthy stride, tracking straight behind and showed well enough.
2nd DODSWORTH AND CARR’S ROSSCHELL WILL I AM AT LIBANEL medium sized 2 yo jet black tricolour with balanced proportions throughout. Good head pattern with correct ears, eye and stop. Nice length of neck and back, depth of
chest and spring of rib, good angulation and right amount of bone for size. Moved out very well , steadily and evenly and showed well.
3rd FOX’S ALANITA ALL THAT JAZZ.
MID LIMIT DOG 4 (1A)
1st MAXWELL & WALLIS’ TATENEN AT HAMISKA Good Looking
2 ½ yo S/W with balanced conformation. Good head pattern with well placed almond eye and nicely tipped ears but would like a little less stop. Correct angulation of shoulder and stifle and good length of neck and back and good bone. Carrying a little too much weight which caused him to roll a bit on the move although he did move out well with drive and he showed well.
2nd BARTRAM’S AQUALITA ONE LOVE 3 ½ yo S/W with pleasing head in balance with body, nicely tipped ears, correct eye and stop. He had good length of back, depth of chest, spring of rib and right amount of bone. A little fidgety but moved and showed OK.

2nd MELLISH’S DEMILEWIS CATCH MY DRIFT Very nice 4 ½ yo B/M with balanced conformation all through. Good head with nicely tipped ears and good stop. Eye a little small but well placed and well filled muzzle. Well built with good depth of chest and spring of rib, correct angulation and good bone. Would prefer his colour to be a slightly clearer blue.
Moved and showed well.

This was a very nice class.
1st BD, BOB & BIS HAWKINS’ BRILYN INTOXICATED Eye catching 3 yo Golden S/W, fit and active with an outgoing personality. Very nicely conformed with a lovely head, beautifully placed and tipped ears, almond eyes, right amount of stop and good shape of muzzle, combining to give him a lovely expression. He had a good arch of neck, lay of shoulder and bend of stifle, deep chest and just right spring of rib, firm back held on the move and excellent bone. He was well muscled up and moved out freely driving well from behind and tracking straight and he was a good showman. I was very pleased to award him the Dog CC and see him go on to win BOB and BIS.

1st & RBD LISTER’S CH ERIDOR IM MR BLU AT NEWARP (Imp) Stood alone. Well built B/M Dog 10 years old in good and sound condition. Very balanced proportions head to body. Nicely moulded head, flat skull, good ear carriage nicely tipped, well placed eye, nice full muzzle. Strong neck of good length, firm back held on the move. Has correct angulation, good depth of chest and nice spring of rib and good bone. Moved and showed well.

Promising 10 mths old S/W Bitch maturing well. Very balanced proportions with flat skull, nicely placed ears, eyes and well filled muzzle, held on good length of neck. Nice length of firm back, good angulation and bone and well muscled up. Moved and showed well.
2nd COLE’S STURTMOOR DREAM OF KASVELYN 7 mths old S/W Dog. Good sized puppy with nice length of neck and back and good general conformation and bone. Promising youngster who still needs to mature, body up and gain experience but moved and showed OK.

1st FORBES’ WILLOWHURST VANITY Tricolour Bitch 17 mths old, very fit, lean and well muscled up. Head in balance with body, set on lovely arch of neck. Good ear carriage, foreface a little longer than I prefer. Nice firm back with slight rise over the loin, sloping off to good length of tail. Right amount of bone and enough depth of chest and spring of rib. Good parallel legs, moved & showed very well.

1st BENTON’S OAKESTELLE VENUS DE MILO Very attractive 2 yo B/M bitch, good colour blue, well broken up and balanced proportions throughout. Well moulded head held on very nice arch of neck. Good angulation and right amount of bone. Good depth of chest and spring of rib and firm back held on the move. Moved out with ease and showed very well.
2nd KENNEDY’S RYCOMBE DEB’N AIR 4 yo S/W Dog. Very well built with plenty of substance. Pleasing head held on nice arch of neck, Good depth of chest and body but felt he could have had a shade more length. Moved and showed well.

back held on the move and good depth of chest and ribcage. Moved out strongly with steady ease & showed well.

Nicely moulded head in balance with body with good ear carriage, almond eye, stop and muzzle. Held on nicely arched neck. Good bone, nice depth of chest and spring of rib and angulation, all in proportion with size. Firm back held on the move and moved and showed very well. Pleased to award her BOB.
2nd FORBES’ Multi Ch KANGASVUOKON VENICE (Imp) 5 yo S/W nicely built, heavier type than 1. Well moulded head with good ear carriage and nice almond eye. Good length of neck, firm back and good bend of stifle. Would like a little more slope on shoulder, Moved well and although a little fidgety, showed well.
