BEST IN SHOW

I had the great pleasure to judge BIS and I would like to thank the committee for their hospitality on the day and for inviting me in the first place.
When I arrived at the venue my co. judges, Mrs. Gwen Beaden, rough bitches and Mr. John Ritchie, rough dogs were well under way.  Smooths (without CC’s) were judged by Mr. Nigel Price.

The two rough judges made life easy for me by agreeing on BOB  and BPIB.
After going over and moving both the  rough and smooth BOB, I decided that BIS should go to the rough.
Hawkins, Brilyn Platinum Lustre, feminine blue merle in good coat which was groomed to perfection.  Her head is of good proportions , good moulding to foreface and a well placed  eye,  correct stop, used ears well .  Beyond her head, her ample neck flows into well laid shoulders , good length of back and her rear angulation is fine with her tail reaching her neat hocks.  Moving effortlessly around the ring she looked a picture. BIS & BVIS.

RES.BIS.  I also decided should go to the rough dog.
Edwards, Elshajo Armani Moon,  Upstanding jet black tri, with a lovely head to handle, with good moulding and plenty of underjaw, correctly placed stop, lovely flat skull, dark almond shaped well place eye, topped off with well used neat ears giving a sweet but masculine expression.  Loved his body-shape and overall conformation, sound and true on the move.  I was delighted  that he was made up on the day. Congratulations.

BPIS.
Telford's, Samhaven Summer Rhapsody for Glenbowdene,  S/W puppy bitch who at this stage looks very promising.  Head coming along nicely, stood and showed constantly, worked so well with her handler.  When stood in profile had a lovely outline with a good length to neck, which was enhanced by her large white shawl.  Beautifully presented.  Moved freely in unison with her handler.  Despite not being challenged on the day, she thoroughly deserved this award.
