ROUGH COLLIES

My thanks to my stewards who kept the ring moving. I was very pleased with my entry, although not high in numbers, it oozed quality. My open bitch class was filled with quality some only wanting 1 CC, some already champions and I judged the dogs to my best ability. I know in some classes they will change places many times.

It all comes down to preference, and what emphasis you put on what part of the dog. Most know my preferences, which is why I was so excited about the dogs shown. When it came to filling out the Kennel club forms, I only had one with cow hocks, 2 with weak back ends and no small eyes. In my opinion the breed is in a good place.

Minor Puppy Dog 4 (1)

1st Mr.B Mrs. O Hawkins & Foy Beldones Tom Wood. Golden sable puppy of 7 months. A very impressive puppy. Well grown of good size, well balanced. I loved his rounded bone and neat arched tight feet. He has short hocks, well bent stifle . Head handles well gorgeous expression, ears right on top. A cheeky look to him and he plays his handler to work extra hard with him. Not the best of halls for puppies but as the day went on he settled into the moving bit a lot better. A puppy with an exciting future.

2nd Miss K Johnston Fridens Cavendish ( imp Rus ) Blue merle of 8 months . Well trained, he stands four square. A clean head, well placed ears, good reach of neck. In good coat of a good texture . Groomed well . Needs to tighten on rear movement but he has time

1 Mr J &Ms C Barron & Jenkins Xcode Della Bucca Delle Fate at Rannaleroch NAF TAF Tri colour of 16 months. Stood alone. Of good size and shown in good coat of good colour. A big white shawl shows off his reach off neck, Plenty of heart room. Needs to tighten up in rear action

1st Mr & Mrs C Scott Chantique Star Dust Golden sable, took my eye as soon as he walked in the ring. Presented to perfection his coat shone. Head of good proportions, gorgeous expression, His ears are bang on top, well placed stop, black almond shaped eyes well filled foreface, all coming together to give that gorgeous expression. Well sloping shoulders, well angulated. Fantastic bone and neat feet, good bend of stifle and short hocks. Moved well. Pleased to award him res CC.

2nd Mr JF & Mrs,AT Loader Redola Just For Fun Another well balanced sable, shown in good condition. Very similar to 1st well balanced head, nice dark eye, good stop, well filled foreface. Good neck on good shoulders, well off for bone. Nice rise over the loins, Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved well

1st Ms K McDevitt….. Caronlea Lukin Black .The first thing I noticed when this dog entered the ring is how black his coat is . Groomed to perfection his jet black coat just sparkled. He is of nice size and shape. Lovely head, sweet eye and expression, uses his ears non stop. Stands four square on neat feet and well boned legs. Rear angulation is spot on . Inner thigh is well muscled . He moves around the ring with ease.

2nd PM,EJ &JL Brooker…. I Am Fantastic Du Bois Des Amazones For Corisian A dog I have judged before , He is now maturing on well. He has fulfilled the promise he showed then. He has the most gorgeous of expressions, sweetest of dark well placed eyes, small neat ears which he can use. Good legs and feet. Shown in good coat , well presented. Moved well .

1st Mrs V & Miss P Sibbald Telforth Tony I last judged this dog 2 years ago and gave him the res. CC. I loved him then and he has just improved and matured so well, he must be at his best now a almost 5 years old. demands to be looked at. He stands four square. So well balanced on super well rounded boned legs and tight, arched well padded feet. His head is perfection for me. Dark almond eyes set obliquely, broken by a perfect stop. Lovely rounded foreface and underjaw. Flat skull balanced to foreface. Well arched neck, sloping shoulder. That lovely rise over the loins giving shape to a good length of back. Well muscled inner thigh, good bend of stifle short hocks. Given all this he moves around the ring with style and ease. Very pleased to award him his 4 th C.C. congratulations

2nd. Mrs. G McEntee Rubacuoridella buca Delle fate At Gerian ( imp Rus ) Unlucky to meet one. Another lovely s/w super expression, good back skull , nice dark eye , good stop, well filled foreface nice well balanced body. Moved well

1st Ms K McDevitt Caronlea Dixie Chick Tri of almost 10 years. Lovely size and well balanced, still has a lovely expression, beautiful dark eyes, stop. Uses her ears non stop. Good reach of neck. Good shoulders, well boned legs and neat feet. Well muscled nice bend of stifle and short hocks. She moved really well, putting a lot of youngsters to shame. So unlucky to have not won her 3rd CC she well deserved to be in the upper house. Best Veteran

Minor Puppy Bitch 5 (1)

1st Miss S Wray Takhisis Vision Of Dreams Golden s/w of 7 months . Everything you would want at this age. Size and coat are spot on. Lovely alert cheeky expression. Black eyes correct stop and good ears. Well boned, tight feet. She moves well. She should have a lot of fun in the ring. Good luck with her.

2nd Mr S & Mrs H Walder Beldones La Vita Bella For Hanvale. Another lovely s/w 7 months old and already standing and showing well a size bigger than 1 but similar . Ears bang on top , good stop, back skull and muzzle of equal length, giving a sweet expression. Moved well.

1st Mrs GM McEntee Gerian Sunribbons S/w of 10 months, litter sister to my Best puppy. Lovely head, flat skull, good foreface, and underjaw, sweet eye giving a lovely expression. Nice for size and shape, well rounded bone and neat feet . Lovely rear end. Moved well for one so young

2nd Mr RP & Mrs MA Shipp Danrox wicked Star At Tremaro. A lovely puppy who should do well S/w almost 10 months old , Good head and expression. Well balanced in length to height ratio. Nice rise over loins, lovely tail set. Moved well.

1st Mr B Johnston Sea Dreamer's Walking On Sunshine (imp NLD ) s/w who stood and showed well , Nice for size , good head, sweet expression. Ears small and well tipped which she uses. Good arched neck and sloping shoulders. Well rounded bone and neat feet. Deep chest with plenty of heart room. Good length of back. Well bent stifle and short hocks . Stood four square and moved well.

2nd Mrs LD Jones Erjon Exclusively Special B/M size bigger than 1. Stood on well boned legs and well padded feet. Kept a nice level topline on the move

1st PM,EJ & JL Brooker Gerian Sun Kisses Over Corisian 10 months s/w takes your eye as soon as she enters the ring. Very pretty girl with the darkest of eyes, well placed good stop, balanced skull and foreface, small neat ears bang on top. Nice arched neck, good slope of shoulder. Forelegs straight and muscular body of good length, deep chest, good length of back, with a nice rise over the loins. Nice turn of stifle and short hocks. Well groomed and moved well. I was pleased to give her Best puppy, and it was nice she was short listed for Best Puppy in show.

1st Mr A Mrs C Scott Chantique Sugar plum Fairy A lovely class of quality bitches. A golden sable , she has the most gorgeous of expressions , dark eyes of good shape and placed spot on, good in skull , foreface and underjaw. Ears bang on top giving that dreamy expression. Good body lines, neat feet, well boned legs , short hocks moved well. I thought this would be my cc winner she would of so deserved it. Her day will come.

2nd. Mr & Mrs BA Makepeace Donohill Magic and Sparkle At Lynaire ( IKC) The hardest decision of the day. This is in my opinion one of the best blue bitches I have ever seen in over 40 years in the breed. I was told she hadn't been in the owners care for long and it showed. She was on her toes for most of the class but the expert handling was just about keeping her in control. She is ultra feminine gorgeous expression. Darkest of eyes, with a good well placed stop, good ears lovely body shape. And shown in a well groomed super coat. Her blue is blue marbled with black which is so well broken, no black patches here. Good tan marking, finished with a nice long sweeping tail. Good luck with her. A bit more training she will trouble the best

1st PM EJ & JL Brooker Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian I had never realised this was litter sister to my dog ticket winner. A gorgeous s/w, I seem to have all my favorite collies here today. She has matured along the right lines, very well balanced both in head and body. Beautiful dark eyes, well placed stop and ears to give that expression we strive for. Excellent shoulders deep chest and superb rear angulation. Moved and showed well

2nd Mrs. V Tame Rahlissa Love song JW Another lovely sable , she has a clean head with good muzzle , correct eye shape and placement. Good reach of neck and shoulders. Lovely rear angulation moved with purpose and drive.

3rd. Miss S L Wray Beldones Duchess Of dreams JW

If this class is representative of the breed today then it is in good hands and bodes well for the future. Dogs that went cardless should not be too disapointed, another day another result. Anyone could change places.

1st Mr B & Mrs O Hawkins & Foy Beldones Fit For Fun I have admired this bitch since she was a puppy and was excited to get a closer look . Oh boy is she something special. She just oozes quality. Not only is she beautiful but she never puts a foot wrong. Stands four square showing the lovely balance of length to height, good tail set finishes off the picture, super reach of neck, good sloping shoulders, rounded bone, neat arched feet. Well muscled inner thigh, well bent stifle and short hocks. Her head again so balanced, nice flat skull, well filled foreface, correct stop. The darkest of almond eyes, neat small ears, all come together to give that melting expression, I was pleased to award her the CC in a strong challenge and Best Of Breed over the gorgeous male.

2nd and so unlucky to meet 1 was Mr JF & Mrs AT Loader Redola just as nice. I saw this bitch a few weeks ago at a show and couldn't take my eyes off her. She has an expression to die for, dark well placed eyes, stop, well rounded foreface, flat skull. Ears well placed and used. All comes together to give that expression. Good neck and shoulders. Standing on well boned legs and feet. She moves well. I was pleased to award her the res CC so unlucky to meet 1.
