THE SCOTTISH KENNEL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

Many thanks to all the exhibitors for the very good entry and to my helpful and very pleasant stewards. I had a good number of nice dogs to judge and I noticed there were fewer signs of cow hocks which was very encouraging but I did notice that most of the tails of the bitches tended to be longer than those of the dogs. I looked for and found balanced conformation, fitness and free movement which is so important in this breed. I have to say that there was a great deal of loud noise in the hall which did upset quite a few of the dogs.

MINOR PUPPY DOG 1
1st PROCTOR’s WILMARANNA OUT OF THE BLUE FOR CATHBRI Just turned 6 months, stood alone but deserved his award as very promising. Lovely blue merle colour and showing balanced proportions at this stage with good length of back, long tail and good bone. Nice head shape, correctly tipped ears and a sweet expression. Moved well and wish him success at the start of his career.

1st & BPD WRAY’s TAKHISIS DREAM WEAVER 9 mths old. Very handsome, well built Golden Sable with balanced head shape, correctly placed almond eye and nicely tipped ears. Good bone, angulation of shoulder and stifle and good length of neck and back. Moved and showed well.
JUNIOR DOG 4 (1)
1st & DCC SHIPP’s TREMARO CELTIC SON JW 17 mths old. Very handsome S/W, well muscled, upstanding and well proportioned. Nicely moulded head, well placed almond shaped eye and kind expression. Good length and arch of neck, breadth of chest, length of back and strong parallel limbs with plenty of bone. Correct slope of shoulder and bend of stifle. Moved and showed very well and pleased to award him the DCC.
2nd WALKER & RICHIES’s BELDONES SEDUCTEUR AT STARLENGA 15 mths old. Beautifully presented Golden Sable. Well proportioned body shape, good bone and correct angulation. Head in balance with body and held on well arched neck but found stop a little deep and would like slightly larger eye. Moved and showed well.

1st CAMPBELL’s CULBRAE IMAGINE 18 mths old S/W Attractive and beautifully marked. Correctly moulded head with gentle expression. Good angulation of shoulder and stifle and well built body. Strong straight limbs and good bone. Moved out and showed well.
2nd BARRON & JENKINS XCODE DELLA BUCCA DELLE FATE AT RANNALEROCH (IMP) 18 mths old Tricolour Smaller type than 1st. Good conformation, angulation and length of back but would like a little more length of neck. Somewhat restless but showed enough and moved OK.

1st WELSH’s KARAFAYE SCOTCH BLEND AT THISTLEWING 2 yo S/W Well balanced head, correct placement of eye and nicely tipped ears. Held on good length of neck. Correct angulation of shoulder and stifle, good breadth of chest and length of back, strong parallel legs and ample bone. Moved out well and showed well.
2nd FAIRGRIEVE’s MULDOANICH HIGHLAND LADDIE Smaller 2yo with attractive and nicely moulded head in balance with well conformed body. Angulation and length correct and right amount of bone. Moved out well and showed enough.

1st & RDCC WRAY’s TAKHISIS TRICK OR TREAT Sturdy dog almost 3 yo. Jet black Tricolour with striking all white front and ruff. Well balanced conformation, good arch of neck, shoulder and stifle, angulation, length of back, breadth and spring of ribs. Strong parallel limbs and ample bone. Moved out well tracking straight and excellent showman. Pleased to award him RDCC.
2nd FINNEY & CLARK’s SALINA SMOKESCREEN Attractive 5 ½ yo Blue Merle with correctly balanced conformation. Nicely moulded head, good angulation, length of back, lung and heart room, spring of rib and good bone. Moved, tracked and showed well.

1st QUINCE’s KARAFAYE BLACK QUILLAN This was a close decision between 1st & 2nd. Striking Tricolour almost 5 yo. Very masculine, strongly built with head and body well balanced. Good arch of neck, length of back and tail, breadth of chest, spring of rib and angulation. Well moulded head, nicely tipped ears set on well arched neck. Strong parallel limbs, well muscled up and plenty of bone. Showed well and moved out particularly well with strength and drive which was the deciding factor.
2nd WELSH’s LADNAR PERFECT TIME AT THISTLEWING Attractive 7 yo Nice coloured Blue Merle. Good head pattern in balance with body set on well arched neck. Correct angulation, breadth of chest, well sprung ribs, right amount of bone. Moved and showed well.

1st HOBKIRK’s CHANTIQUE LOVE’N KISSES Promising 7mths Golden Sable with good head pattern, ears well tipped and nice eye placement. Good length of neck, body and tail, all in proportion, firm legs and right amount of bone. Moved and showed OK.
2nd BLANEY’s WILMARANNA BLUE DIAMOND Another promising puppy, lovely Blue Merle in colour. Has a pretty head with nicely tipped ears, well placed almond eye, good length of body and tail and right amount of bone for her age. Still a baby but moved and showed well enough.

1st & BPB & RBCC MELVIN & JOPSON’s NITHVIEW COUNTRY BUMPKIN Striking 9 mths old S/W. Lovely shaped head with nicely tipped ears and well place almond eye. Correctly proportioned body with arched neck, good angulation, length of back and nice long tail. Good bone, firm parallel legs and moved keenly , tracking straight and showed well. Pleased to award her the RBCC.
2nd SHIPP’s DANROX WICKED STAR AT TREMARO Another attractive S/W 11 ½ mths Good shaped head set on nicely arched neck. Well conformed body with correct angulation, length of back and tail and good bone. Moved and showed well.

1st & BCC & BOB McGILL & BOYD’s GEMHEID CHINA GIRL AT STREGATO 16 mths S/W Caught my eye straight away. Elegant and with loads of personality. Well moulded head with excellent placement of eyes and tipped ears, held on good length and arch of neck which flowed into correct length of back and lovely long tail. Excellent slope of shoulder and bend of stifle, good breadth of chest, spring of rib and right amount of bone. Strong parallel limbs which on the move, reached out well in front and drove well from behind. She was very well handled and showed beautifully and deserved her BCC AND BOB.
2nd WELSH’s YENROC SCOTTISH HARMONY AT THISTLEWING Slightly different type to 1st. Well proportioned 13 mths old with appealing expression and nicely moulded head pattern, held on good length of neck. Correct angulation, length of back, long tail and right amount of bone. Moved and showed well.

1st TOPHAM’s SEANCHROIS EXTRAORDINARY BLUE GIRL 17 mths old Blue Merle who stood out as the best mover in the class. Balanced head pattern with good ear carriage and placement of eye, correct angulation, length of back, chest room, spring of ribs and good bone. Moved out with positive, even stride, tracking well and showed well.
2nd STEVEN’s CARIADHAF COOKIES AND CREAM 1 ½ yo good sized tricolour with balanced proportions. Well moulded head with good eye and nicely tipped ears. Had good angulation and length of back, plenty of bone. A little overweight but showed and moved well.

1st HODGES JOPIUM SECRET FANTASY JW Golden S/W 2 ½ yo Attractive and very feminine S/W with well moulded head, correct almond eye, nicely tipped ears and very sweet expression. good arched neck, length of back, chest room, angulation and well sprung ribs. Excellent bone, parallel limbs and move and tracked well. Showed very well.
2nd FOX’s ERJON EUPHORIC FOR ALANITA Likeable 2 yo Jet Black tricolour. Very well proportioned all over. Attractive correctly moulded head with well placed almond eye, nicely tipped ears. Right length, breadth of chest and spring of rib, angulation and bone. Moved OK though was a little lethargic but stood and showed well.

1st TAME’s RAHLISSA LOVE SONG JW 3 yo Golden Sable All in proportion head to body. Sweet feminine head with lovely expression. Very nicely tipped ears, correctly placed eye and stop, good length and arch of neck, length of back, breadth of chest and rib cage, angulation and right amount of bone. Limbs parallel and moved beautifully and showed well.
2nd BRODIE’s SHANABURN MAGICAL KISSES JW 4 ½ yo Very strongly built well proportioned tricolour. Correct head pattern, good length of neck and back, good angulation, strong limbs and plenty of bone. Powerful mover and showed well. Just preferred the type of the 1st placement.

1st HARRISON’s CARIADHAF CANDY KISSES Attractive 4 ½ yo Blue Merle, carrying a very clear coloured blue coat despite a few dark patches. Well moulded head with great ear carriage and nice almond eye, set on long and well arched neck. Well proportioned body with excellent angulation, good length of back and tail, nice breadth of chest and spring of ribs. Moved out briskly on firm parallel limbs, tracking straight and showed very well despite the increasing background noise.
2nd MUIR’s TIGANLEA FAIRY TALE Nearly 4 yo Beautifully presented Golden S/W with huge white ruff. Good head pattern with correct ear carriage and placement of eye and in balance with body. Well proportioned body throughout with good angulation and length. Firm legs and right amount of bone and moved out keenly, tracking well and showed well. Just preferred the type of the first placement.

1st BVB & BVIB COLLINO’s WICANI MOONLIGHT SERENADE AT IMAGINIST 8 yo Heavy coated tricolour. Plenty of substance. Well moulded head with correct ear carriage, lovely well placed almond eye. Good length of neck, back and tail, plenty of bone, excellent breadth of chest, spring of rib and good angulation. Moved soundly and showed well.
2nd BUTLER’s MARINA DEL RAY LASS BRONVANNIN 11 ½ yo Shaded S/W On the small side and lacked a little substance. Balanced head to body, all in proportion. Correct length and general construction and right amount of bone for size. She is showing her age a bit but moved OK and showed very well.
