I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge their open show.  I was delighted with my entry and I would also like to thank the exhibitors for accepting my decisions gracefully on the day.

Rough Collies

Puppy Dog (2,1)
1st McCann’s Oakland blue Style Du Clos De Seawind at Zolkhan (imp. Fra)
A blue merle attending his first show today and he certainly took it in his stride.  He stood and showed so attentively to his handler.  He has a good wedge shaped head, dark, almond eyes giving the desired expression.  Well positioned ears which he used constantly.  Good reach of neck, well proportioned and groomed to perfection.  He was a bit unsure on the move at times today but very deserving of his best puppy.

Junior Dog (1,0)
1st Watt’s Culbrae Little Bit of Red
Sable and white with a lovely head.  He has dark, almond shaped eyes giving a sweet yet masculine expression. Well placed ears which he used at all times, he was very attentive to his handler. He has a beautiful shape, well bent stifle with well let down hocks.  His coat is of the correct texture which was presented beautifully.  Moved with drive and confidence.

1st Caplan’s Chantique Lover Boy of Whitecraigs
A well proportioned sable and white with a lovely shape.  Well placed stop and almond shaped eye giving a sweet expression.  He has correctly placed ears which at times he was reluctant to use today.  He moved round the ring with confidence and was beautifully presented.
2nd Paterson & Blaney’s Wilmaranna Forever In Blue
Blue merle with a correct, wedge shaped head.  Another who was reluctant to use his ears today.  He has a good reach of neck and level topline which he kept on the move.  Good bend of stifle and neat feet.

Open Dog (3,1)
1st McCarte’s Lynmack Walk Over You at Roughrigg
At 5 years, this sable and white just gets better and better every time I see him.  He has the most beautiful head.  All my previous comments still apply.  As always, he was presented beautifully and in excellent condition.  As his conformation would suggest, he moved effortlessly around the ring, I was in no doubt that he was the best mover today.  Delighted to award him Best dog and Best of Breed.
2nd Carmicheals Kilchrenan Keltic Brier JW
A tri who was unlucky to meet 1 as there is a lot to like about this boy.  He has lovely, dark, almond shaped eye and correctly placed ears which he used well.  He was very attentive to his handler.  He has a good reach of neck, length of back and moved with drive. 

Puppy Bitch (3,1)
1st Ashe’s Starlenga Thumbilina at Forrestwalk
This sable and white has a wedge shaped head and well moulded foreface.  Her stop is correctly placed and her dark, almond shaped eye just gives her the sweetest expression.  She has a nice compact shape.  As always from this kennel, she was presented beautifully. 
2nd Brooklynson Kiera Nite
A sable and white with a lovely shape.  She has a wedge shaped head with a slight stop.  Correct shaped eye but I found the winner today to have a much sweeter expression.  She has a good reach of neck and level topline.

Novice Bitch (2,1)
1st Paterson and Blaney’s Wilmarana Blue Diamond
A sweet blue merle with a wedge shaped head and well moulded foreface and flat skull.  She has well placed ears which she used when she had to.  Good reach of neck, spring of rib and depth of chest.  Moved well but was a little proud of her tail.

Post Graduate Bitch (4,2)
1st Carmichael’s Kilchrenan Zena’s Design
A tri bitch with a nice, clean head, well placed stop and a lovely alert expression.  She has neat ears and showed nonstop.  She is well proportioned, displaying a lovely shape which was only enhanced by her neat fitting coat. Like her kennel mate, she was presented beautifully.   Moved with plenty of drive.
2nd Topham’s Seanchrois Extraordinary Blue Girl
A blue merle bitch who was unlucky to meet 1.  She has a clean, wedge shaped head, well moulded muzzle and a correctly placed stop. 
She has a well arched neck and good lay of shoulder.  She is a good shape and moved very well.

Open Bitch (4,2)
1st Ashe’s Starlenga Mysterious Girl at Forrestwalk
I have judged this sable and white before and can’t believe she is now a veteran!  She has a sweet expression with a lovely dark, almond shaped eye.  Well placed ears which she used well.  Good reach of neck, spring of ribs and depth of chest.  Good angulation both front and rear and was sound on the move.  Delighted to award her best bitch.

2nd Babiak’s Erjon Ebony Express at Egalefalls
This tri was beautifully proportioned and had a lovely shape.   She has a good, clean head with a correctly placed stop.  She has a melting expression and used her ears well.  Moved well.
