I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting and entrusting me with the Pastoral Group at this excellently run show. This was the first time I have had the privilege to judge the Pastoral Group and I would like to thank all the exhibitors for letting me have the honour to assess and place all their lovely dogs. Open shows are the bedrock of our sport and a learning environment for all, especially judges and I thank the exhibitors for their patience, understanding and sportsmanship. The quality of some of the exhibits today was exceptional and the strength in depth in some classes meant many I was spoilt for choice.

Rough Collies Puppy (1/0)
1. Selwyn Tiganlea Something Blue 6 month female who presented very well, had a lovely sweet expression, I liked the proportions and tapering of her muzzle, correct ear set and tip, enough neck and nice lay of shoulder, held a good topline, moved well with nice convergence. BP unfortunately couldn’t stay for group where she would have done well.

1. White Mejola Main Attraction This 17 month sable female was alone but would have stood out in a crowd, beautifully alert expression, well shaped eye and super muzzle to skull transition, so well put together in front with good lay leading to level back, well bodied, good turn of stifle allowing a freedom in rear action which was clean and ground covering. 1. Selwyn Breckamore Black Sugar 2year old tri female, whose sparkling eyes gave her a pleasing expression, tight in flew with good pigment, tad too much stop in her transition for me, liked her ear set, I would have liked a tad more leg and bone to balance her well ribbed body proportion. Moved cleanly just not with the sparkle of the junior today.

1. White Mejola Fate & Fortune A 2 year old merle male who I have admired before and he has certainly come on well. He has super head proportions with a lovely dark eye, well spaced and furred ears that tipped correctly, presents with good width and depth to chest, being highly picky perhaps a fraction more lay. He has a super topline and enough turn of stifle. This boy excels on the move, very correct coming and going and covers the ground effortlessly. Very happy to award him BOB and G1 2. Skinner Samhaven Time is Money with Nikal This 5 year old female is of medium size and maybe could be a tad more off the ground. She has a sweet headpiece definitely feminine with nice transition, well ribbed and strong over loin, just a little unsettled on the move today.
