Rough Collies

Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this very well run, friendly show.     Special mention for the lovely stewards.

All exhibits where beautifully presented, thank you to all exhibitors for bringing them.

Puppy  D/B  (2, 2)
Two lovely puppy Dogs.  No doubt they will change places many times.

1st  Randalls   Ladnar Mustriharder.   As his name suggests a Tri colour.   Just  7 ½ months old.   Jet black coat which shone against his whites.  Well placed ears, nicely rounded foreface,  dark eye and a fabulous rich tan.  Just needs to flatten ever so slightly in back skull.  Good reach of neck set onto well placed shoulders with good depth of chest.  A little bum high at the minute but he is going to be a nice sized male with plenty of substance when he finishes so is to be expected.   Well off for bone, good fore & rear angulation.  Lovely long tail which is set correctly.  Moved with confidence.    He must have a bright future,  I shall watch his career with interest.  Best Puppy.  Best Dog  Reserve BOB.

2nd Blakes   Corydon Pol Roger. 10 month old blue merle of good colour.  Possibly the better headed of the two at the moment with well placed dark eye, good ears and correctly placed stop.  Nice shape but would like a little more length of back.  Not as positive on the move today as 1.  Very well presented.

Junior (1.1)

1st Margetts  Lynmead Lemonade for Collingvale.  Blue Merle with lovely eye and expression, well presented.  Bit close behind.

Graduate (4.1 )
1st  Beadens  Saganan Blue Diamond JW.    Beautifully presented feminine blue bitch of correct colour with a rich tan.   Lovely overall shape with good reach of neck, good angulation fore and aft, deep chest and good spring of rib. Strong second thigh.   Correct length to height ratio.  Nice dark well placed eye,  good stop, would prefer more moulded foreface but did not distract from whole picture.  Good topline which she held on the move.    She flowed around the ring with reach and drive out moving all else today.  Pleased to award her Best Bitch & Best of Breed.  Delighted to hear she took Pastoral Group 2 later in the day, Congratulations.

2nd Milligan & Marley  Ladnar Trust in me for Alfsden JW    Another good coloured blue merle.  Sweet expression,  stronger in foreface than 1 with good eye and well placed ears.  Good topline, well sprung ribs,  not settled today.

Open Dog  (4.3)
1st Skinners Nikal its Gud to be black VW.   8 ½ years young and thoroughly enjoying his day out!   Having seen this dog many times from the ringside it was nice to be able to go over him and he does need to be handled to appreciate him.  Beautifully presented with balanced head, nicely shaped foreface and good stop,  dark eye, well placed ears which he used well. Correct lay of shoulder with ample ribbing, held topline.   Strong hocks with plenty of width.  Moving with drive, unlucky to meet the puppy, RBD.

Open Bitch  (3, 0 )

1st Randalls Fata  Turchina Ladnar Di Cambiano (imp Ita )  Shapely blue with sweet expression, nicely moulded foreface, good stop, correct ear placement and is well angulated with good topline.  Moved well.

2nd  Beadens Myriehewe Promises.  My type of bitch.  Tri of good shape with sweet expression,  pleasing dark eye, correct stop and well placed ears.  Good spring of rib and deep chest. Moved well, sadly a little unsettled today.  Would love to see her in full coat and settled.
