NORTHUMBERLAND & DURHAM COLLIE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
SATURDAY 13TH APRIL 2019

I was very pleased to be invited to judge the bitches at the Northumberland & Durham championship show. There were 49 bitches making 59 entries with only 3 absentees. I was very pleased with the excellent quality.               

                                                                            
I would like to thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to judge at this show, and also to thank my two stewards for their assistance.

Minor Puppy Bitch (4)
1st Blaikie’s Kourika Kover Girl 9 month old S&W very promising youngster. She stood and showed her little head off.When viewed from the side she looked well balanced with a good reach of neck.She has a clean well balanced head and a sweet expression. One to watch out for in the future as she matures.
2nd Tipper’s Tiganlea Twinkling Star, 6 month old B/M another one to watch out for.  If she can get used to the floor , which I am sure as she matures she will. She has a good clean head that is topped with correctly placed ears and has very good blue merle colouring.
3rd Scott’s Chantique Bewitched

Puppy Bitch (7)
1st Iley’s  Arklethill Delilah at Ileyda 10 month old S&W, I liked this one as soon as she entered the ring. She stands four square showing her head off. Her head is that correctly shaped wedge with correctly placed almond shaped eyes, ears placed on top, Put these together and you get that sweet expression that I was looking for. She moved well as her construction suggested  she was able too. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch.
2nd Tame’s Oh Suzannah Du Clos De Seawind At Rahlissa (imp) 10 month old S&W who is another super bitch with a  good clean head. Her body shape is very pleasing . Good depth of chest with plenty of heart room and she moved well. There was not much to choose between 1st and 2nd I preferred the expression of 1st

Junior Bitch (9)
1st Iley’s Call me Dreamer in for Ileyda Della Verde Scozia (imp), very nice feminine bitch with a super melting expression, good body shape with level topline, correct angle of croup good turn of stifle, movement was effortless.
2nd Tame’s Riverside Song Xtra Sweet At Rahlissa (imp), S&W very similar to 2nd in puppy she has got a lot going for her, and as her name suggests she is very sweet especially her expression which comes from a well balanced head, good on the move with a level topline

1st Tames Riverside Song Xtra Sweet At Rahlissa (imp)
2nd Shipps On My Mind Du Clos De Sea-Wind (imp). S&W Another well presented bitch, groomed to perfection as one expects from this kennel. She was not settled and was a bit fidgety and that deterred from her performance, but the quality is there and I am sure that she will do well as she matures.
3rd Growcott’s Lillyway lemonade Blush

2nd Spendelow’s Tiganlea Twinkling Light Over Uffspring.  Not a very happy bunny, she did not want me to go over her,  but she is only young and lets hope she gets on with showing as she matures.

Graduate Bitch (5) (1)
1st Mitchell & Jordan’s Scottlyme Qkissagram For Avonfair. Excellent specimen presented in full coat. Viewed from the side the overall picture was spot on. Good confirmation both fore and aft, good on the move, good spring of ribs and plenty of heart room.
2nd Scott’s Chantique Fairy Magic. Super bitch with excellent overall properties with a well balanced wedge shaped head, the eyes, ears and stop all coming together to give that beautiful expression, and she could move also.
3rd Hodges Jopium Secrets in the Mist.

Post Graduate Bitch (4) (1)
1st Shipp’s Gillyflower Della Buca Delle Fate (imp). Cracking little bitch. Her head is so clean. Super melting expression , good length of body with plenty of heart room. Shown in excellent condition and she moved with drive.
2nd Dix’s Gemastra Just One Kiss at Treweek. Tri colour presented in full coat groomed to perfection Good length of body well balanced. Movement was ok.
3rd Boyle’s Barrenclough Golden Pearl

Mid Limit Bitch (4)
1st Brand &Reid’s Ronansprey Rumour Has It. B/M of excellent quality, well balanced head neat well placed ears which she used non stop. Viewed from the side she has a nice shape with a good depth of chest plenty of heart room and good turn of stifle. Her movement was very good.
2nd Wray-Ramsdon’s Takhisis Aphrodite JW. Super bitch very similar to 1st she was presented in full coat which was groomed to perfection. The length of body to height ratio was fine giving her a good balance which was obvious when she moved.
3rd Sibbalds Telforth Little Mix

Limit Bitch (8)(1)
1st Boyle’s Arklethill Helena. Super well constructed sable and white bitch who caught my attention when she came into the ring. Her head was a joy to handle, perfect wedge shape with the correct amount of stop and a lovely expression. Her construction was good which enabled her to move with ease. I found out later that she was the dam of my  best Puppy bitch.
2nd Melvin & Jopson’s Nithview Summer Lovin. Very similar type to the winner of this class, they could change places anytime. There was not much to choose between them.
3rd MC Gowan’s Barrenclough Golden Charm At Westoak

Open Bitch (7)(1)
1st Walder’s Beldones La Vita Bella For Hanvale JW. What A Super bitch what can I say about this bitch that has not been said before. She is so typical of the breed, she excels in head properties well placed dark eyes, neat correctly placed ears, flat skull with all these attributes coupled together you can see where that melting expression comes from, and she moves well also. I was so pleased to award her the C/C this being her crowning glory well done. She then went on to achieve Best In Show.
2nd Burrows CH Tiganlea Tinkerbell At Revdvicki. what I have written about the first in this class can mostly be said about this gorgeous bitch. It was a hard decision to make,  but the one thing I will say about this bitch is, when she is being shown she gives one hundred percent and when she is being moved she is in complete unison with her handler. Very pleased to award her the reserve C/C well done. She also went on to gain Reserve best in Show.
3rd Wray & Ramsdon’s Beldones Duchess Of Dreams JW

Veteran Bitch (3)
1st Walder’s CH Heart Of Gold De Cabrenysset For Hanvale  I have admired this bitch for some time now and at 7yrs young she still looks the part she has a gorgeous melting expression, she stands and shows like a good un and her movements not bad either, best Veteran Bitch and best Veteran in Show
2nd Whitaker’s Jopium Majical Dream. another 7 year old  tri of good quality, good body shape and was presented in full coat which was well groomed, nice dark eye which went towards a sweet expression. Movement was good.
3rd Growcott’s Jopium Fascinator
