EACA OPEN SHOW
APRIL 2021

Thank you very much for the invite to judge this beautiful breed. Huge congratulations to the Committee to jump through the hoops to run an Open and Championship show on the same day Covid Safe. The dogs varied considerably, some overweight and under exercised which in present circumstances forgave a lot. I know with the uncertainty whether the show would go ahead that preparation was limited. The trimming of feet left a lot to be desired, probably by newer members of the show community, certainly little help and guidance needed here. Forgave the very few shy ones due to lock down. Weather very kind sunny day and spirits amongst folk very good and the odd glitch taken in good spirit. 

ROUGH COLLIES

VD (9,8) 1 Hull’s Lizmark Gold Standard Sh.CM. 10years put many a youngster to shame with dentition and movement, a nicely balanced dog. Lovely head in parallel lines dark almond shaped eyes and correct ears giving a lovely expression. Level back with well sprung ribs and deep chest. Neat feet, smooth sound movement BEST VETERAN IN BREED. 2 Bartram’s Aqualita One Love. 10years well balanced but not quite the movement of one. Good balance of skull and foreface. Placement shape and colour of eye good. Deep chest well sprung ribs moderate bone. Hocks not so well let down. 3 Vogan’s Lenosann Midnight Rascal. 

MPD (4,2) 1 Tiganlea True Hero. Tipper 8mth enjoying his first outing so movement very erratic. Nicely balanced head with good eye and well placed ears, coming into full coat, a real fluff ball, so outline not so clear, hands told me he was a little shorter in back, but a good chest and shoulder BEST MINOR PUPPY DOG. 2 Hanson’s Jards Ring Presence. 6mth Loved this boy, a lockdown baby and am sure when he is used to the big outside world will do well. 

PD (2) 1 Blake’s Corydon The Grandmaster. 11mth. Sure this one will be a grandmaster in time head lovely clean wedge smooth in outline skull to muzzle in parallel lines with a perceptible stop. Good dark brown almond shaped eyes, well used ears giving an intelligent expression. Well balanced dog with deep chest nice length of loin with well bent stifles, well balanced so moved well. BEST PUPPY IN BREED. 2 Spendelow’s Uffspring Unshadowed. Nice head and expression and good chest, movement was a bit erratic.  

JD (4,1) 1 Spendelow’s Uffspring Understudy. Expression lovely, perfect balance of skull and foreface enhanced by shape colour and placement of eye and use of ears. Well angulated shoulders nicely sprung ribs and well bent stifles. Well shaped and padded feet moved well. 2 Moore’s Welanga Winter Carols Via Caprioara. Good head and expression. Well balanced, just prefer a little more under jaw. Needs more drive on moving, wretched lockdown. 3 Singh’s Tiganlea Task Master At Trenic.   

YD (5,1) 1 Allsopp’s Aqualita Its`A Miracle. Head clean wedge with smooth outline. Flat skull with two parallel lines with a slight stop, dark well placed and shaped eyes placement and use of ears perfected the expression. Well balanced and correct construction equalled good movement. 2 May’s Camanna Careerchangeing For Maqueeba. A nice headed dog with good eye and expression. Lockdown had its effect with over weight and down on pasterns. 3 Phillips Essanjay Against All Odds. 

PGD (6,1) 1 Ludlow’s Tudorlyn Golden Dreamer For Malina. Lovely head and eye well angulated shoulders and good depth of chest, level topline, impression of balance slightly marred by overweight and also reflected in movement. 2 Whatacoo The One And Only. Slightly longer in head than one but lovely expression with well set almond eyes good ear carriage and well rounded muzzle. Shoulders ok but hindquarters not so strong (probably due to lockdown) and reflected in movement. 3 Hull’s Lizmark Gold Sovereign.  

LD (8,3) 1 Fuller’s Ray-Ramray Hanvale Arthur Shelby With Damos. Well balanced head with good moulding of foreface enhanced by almond shaped dark eye and well carried neat ears. Good shoulder placement helping to give elegance and majesty nice length of loin, good bend of stifle and length of second thigh, the overall balance led to good movement. Best of Breed. Best Dog. Reserve Best in Show. Best opposite sex in show. 2 Lister’s Oytars Platinum Moon At Newarp. Ran number one very close but lost out on movement, just not the rear drive. Good headed and well balanced dog. 3 Bartram’s Ambartr King Of The Ring.  

OD (4,1,1w) Scott’s Aniesh Touch Of Black. Slightly heavier head so not quite the expression of one , and felt the shoulders would benefit from more angulation so. Movement not quite so fluid.   

VB (10,2) 1 Whitaker’s Aniesh Misty Blue Moon Of Siluto. Head of smooth outline, flat skull tapering gradually from ears to end of black nose. Well placed and shaped eyes giving a sweet expression. Overall balance good through good construction from shoulders to pelvis leading to good movement Best Veteran Bitch. 2 Collino’s Imaginist Waxing Lyrical. A reluctant shower but could not hide her construction and balance and still maintained her sweet expression. Moved well. 3 Collins Wicani Moonlight Serenade At Imaginist.  

MPB (3) 1 Geddes Ingledene Sno Angel. Lovely balanced girl showing great promise, sweet expression given through a flat skull tapering gradually to the nose enhanced by and well placed shaped eye, small neat ears. Good construction equalled good movement for one so young. Best Minor Pup Bitch. 2 Tipper’s Tiganlea True Star Shine. Nice head and expression unlucky to meet one but does need to settle on the move. 3 Bartram’s AMBARTR ETERNAL SPIRIT.  

PB (3) 1 Wesh’s Thistlewing Spell On You. Well constructed and balanced youngster moved the best in class. Lovely head of good length and balance together with medium sized almond shaped dark eye and neat well carried ears Best Puppy Bitch. 2 Blake’s Corydon Clarissa, another well balanced, good headed youngster that pushed one hard. Just not the movement of 1. 3 Bartram’s Ambartr Winds Of Change.  

JB (5) 1 Spendelow’s Uffspring Unstoppable. Nice head with well moulded foreface and flat skull. Has dark well placed almond shaped eyes. Good shoulders and deep chest. Level back nice turn of stifle and parallel hind legs. Movement very good. Res Best Bitch 2 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Lady Of Illusions. Another well balanced sweet expression youngster, movement just a little loose. 3 Tipper’s Revdvicki Ruby Tuesday At Tiganlea.  

YB (5,1w) 1 Burrows Revdvicki Ramblin Rose. Very pretty girl. Expression perfected by balance of skull and foreface with correct size placement and colour of eye topped by placement and ear carriage. Nicely constructed so moved well. 2 Quince’s Thistlewing Celtic Soul For Karafaye. Another very nice youngster. Good head and expression. Good shoulders and depth of chest. Hindquarters ok but movement a little unsettled. 3 May’s Samhaven Jump To The Beat With Maqueeba.  

PGB (6,4) 1 Lister’s Ladnar Quick Step At Newarp. That shows to advantage, head well balanced giving a smooth outline, eyes correctly placed and of good shape. Well angulated shoulders, deep chest and well sprung ribs and nice turn of stifle. Good steady easy movement. 2 Whitaker’s Siluto Over The Blue Moon. Nice head and expression but appearance not the overall balance of one. A little wide in front movement.  

LB (13,7) 1 Randall’s Ladnar Inkheart JW. Not the biggest of bitches but most appealing. Lovely head and expression. Well angulated shoulders and good pasterns. Nice deep chest with well sprung ribs, nice length of loin leading to well muscled thighs and good bend of stifle. Moved very well. Just a shame her topline was not held level. 2 Welsh’s Thistlewing Heart String. Beautiful. Very pretty girl well balanced head with a perceptible stop. Eye correctly placed almond shaped and dark brown. Ears neat and well placed. Overall impression of a balanced dog nothing overdone and moved well. 3 Whitaker’s Siluto Misterious Girl.  

OB (7,3) 1 White’s Mejola Main Attraction. Beautiful girl, head smooth outline with flat skull and to top of the muzzle lying in two parallel lines divided by perceptible stop, sweet expression given by obliquely set eyes of almond shape and dark brown colour. Off set with small ears carried semi erect on top of skull with good conformation fore and aft. Level topline and well balanced, could do no other except move well. BEST BITCH. Reserve Best of Breed. 2 Wray-Ramsden’s Beldones Duchess Of Dreams. Sweet head and expression, would prefer her to be a little more balanced but suspect a sign of the times as overall construction felt ok. 3 Mellish’s Demelewis Dare To Tell.  

SMOOTH COLLIE:

PGD/B (7,3) 1 Howard’s Shandlmain Blu Chief. Physical structure showed lines of strength, activity and balance. Lovely head and expression. Clean outline flat skull. Nice almond, dark brown eye topped by well carried and used neat ears. Shoulders well angulated leading to level top line and had muscular thighs and well bent stifles. Moved well with drive Res Best of Breed and Best Opposite sex. 2 Benton’s Oakestelle Venus De Milo. Pretty girl with sweet expression. Nicely constructed with a good firm topline and well sprung ribs, deep chest. Hocks here well let down and powerful. Hence moved with drive. 3 Benton’s Brackenhaye Queen Of Hearts Of Oakstelle.  

OD (4,3) 1 Wood’s Ch Oastelle Vivadl. Balanced head and expression created by well placed almond shaped dark eye. Level topline good thighs nice bend of stifle. Well let down hocks. Moved with drive but not the reach to match.  

OB(4,2) 1 Benton’s Oakstelle Venus De Milo. Expression lovely obtained by perfect balance and combination of skull and foreface with perfect size shape colour and placement of eye and ear position and carriage. Nicely constructed good shoulders level topline well bent stifle and strong well let hocks thick dense harsh coat. Side action smooth, long stride that was light and effortless. Best of Breed. Best Veteran Best in Show. 2 Benton’s Ch Alopex Marionette Of Oakestelle, had to give way to her daughter today, well balanced and constructed lady and being the end of the day did not move so freely.
