Judges Critique.

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs, which I have to say were all immaculately presented. Thank you to the stewards who kept me and the ring running smoothly.

Puppy Dog (4,0)

  1. Wicani Obsidian Dagger At Rossavon (Mrs R MacDonald’s). This 10 month Tri puppy has the most jet black fitted coat which shone in the sun and there is no doubt he is a male. Good head with a well blunted wedge and correct stop, with correctly placed eyes and ears. Correct bite. Beautiful outline showing length of neck and good length to height ratio. Has good reach and balance on the move when not playing. BPD
  2. Phreelancer Phederal Agent At Mejola (Mrs J White’s). Another 10 month Tri puppy. Nice head qualities, eyes slightly small.  Good reach of neck. Stood and showed well for handler. Much more settled on the more than 1st showing good movement with good angulation. Shame he came up against 1st today as I preferred the expression and head qualities of winner.

Junior Dog (2,0)

  1. Alfsden He Lives In You (Ms J Milligan & Mr N Marley’s) 17 month  nicely marked Blue Merle with a well filled muzzle, well placed and well used ears, correct stop. Reasonable underjaw with correct bite. Good outline with lovely neck and good rear angulation. Moved well.
  2. Wicani Obsidian Dagger At Rossavon (Mrs R MacDonald’s).




Post Graduate Dog (3,0)

  1. Afterglow Invocation (Mrs & Mr Harvey) Lovely 2 year old Rich Mahogany sable that cannot be mistaken for anything but male. He has a beautiful expression with everything in the correct place, slight stop, correct well used ears, correctly placed dark eyes, well filled clean muzzle and good underjaw. Lovely neck. Well muscled, nicely constructed with good angles and nice reach which showed even better when he moved out in the challenge. BD & BOB
  2. Corydon The Grandmaster (Miss M J Blake) Another 2 year old sable slightly less of him than 1st but still very much a male in good coat. Nice filled muzzle, dark eyes slightly smaller, good neck. Good rear angulation and good tail set which was carried well on the move. 

Open Dog (3,1)

  1. Corydon The Ringmaster (Miss M J Blake) 6 year old sable. Well placed dark eyes, correct ears, slight stop, lovely filled muzzle, correct bite and good underjaw all combining to give a lovely expression. Nicely muscled and angulated, nice tight feet. Good reach, nice on the move kept his topline. RBD
  2. Demelewis Truth Or Dare (Miss M Mellish) 4 year old blue merle. Nice outline on this male. Pleasing expression with correct eye set.  Slightly wide in skull giving low set ears which spoilt his expression slightly and lacked underjaw. Good substance, moved OK.

Veteran Dog (3,2)

  1. Nikal It’s Gud To Be Black (Miss S Skinner) Tri 11 year old gentleman Good length to height ratio, good depth of chest,  moved well keeping his topline. Coat in good condition. BVD

Puppy Bitch (4,1)

  1. Ladnar Izadorable (Mr D & Mrs S Randall) 11 month Blue Merle, good colour, beautifully presented. Lovely feminine expression with correctly placed ears and eyes. Nice substance. Tight feet. Good front and rear angulation, keeping her topline on the move and carried her tail correctly. BPB BP
  2. Mejola main Event (Mrs J White) 11 month Sable very much as 1st. Lovely feminine expression, good reach of neck. Moved nicely when she didn’t have her head on the floor. Her tail carriage let her down today.

Post Graduate Bitch (4,0)

  1. Ingledene Midnite Skye With Fivejays (Mrs Radford-House) 20 month tri stood out for her correct length to height ratio. Good reach of neck. Good depth of chest. Lovely on the move, showing good reach, firm topline, nice angulation front and rear. RBB
  2. Mejola Special Reserve (Mrs J White) 2 year old feminine Sable. Nice head with pleasing expression. Good neck and depth of chest. Good topline, correctly angulated just felt 1st was slightly better on the move today.

Limit Bitch (2,1)

  1. Ladnar Trust In Me For Alfsden JW (Mr N Marley & Ms Milligan) 4 year old Blue Merle of good color, with pleasing expression, well placed ears and eyes. Enough neck, good depth of chest, nice amount of substance. Moved out well with correct tail carriage.

Open Bitch (4,2)

  1. Demelewis Double Dare (Miss M Mellish) 4 year blue merle a  little out of coat today. Well placed ears which she constantly used, good underjaw. Lovely reach of neck, good depth of chest, nice length of loin, with correct height to length ratio. This bitch has correct angles fore and aft and absolutely sound movement with lovely reach. Kept her topline and carried her tail correctly. She was the best mover of the day.  BB RBOB
  2. Mejola Main Attraction (Mrs J White) 4 year old sable with sweet expression and correct head qualities. Very heavily coated. Correct angles fore and aft. Sound on the move with correct tail carriage. Was out moved by 1st.

Veteran Bitch (5,2)

  1. Ladnar Inkheart (Mr D & Mrs S Randall) 7 year Tri in beautiful condition. Very feminine expression, well used ears, good eye placement. Nice length of neck. Good substance and depth of chest. Moved well. Very much at one with her handler. BVB BV
  2. Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle (Miss M Benton) 7 year Sable well placed ears and eyes, lacking in underjaw. Good length and chest. Correct topline and tailset. Well muscled. Nice tight feet. Very close behind on the move.
