ST HELENS OPEN SHOW
Rough Collies

Thank you to the committee for an enjoyable day and of course to the exhibitors for entering. The show itself was very well run with a huge entry overall, its many years since I have seen an open show with so many entries, congratulations to The committee, stewards and helpers. Due to the high entry it was at times unbearably noisy in the hall which made some exhibits unsettled today.
It was brought to my attention by a steward that someone in a previous breed had shown a bitch in season dripping heavily as she went around the ring.  I do know which Breed but shall keep it to myself, suffice to say this is unacceptable not only for the stewards having to clean up but considering the entry for the day in that hall was well over 700 using just 6 rings, it shows complete ignorance and greed.                                                                     Needless to say this unsettled many males later in the day!

Quality sable & white bitch with lovely expression well placed dark eye, nicely rounded foreface with good ear set.  Good reach of neck set into well angulated shoulders. Good length of back and turn of stifle. Sadly she was very unsettled by the noise today.

2nd Clare & Pointon’s   Aldreen Silver Trinket.
Another nice bitch.  Good coloured blue merle.  Good dark eye, overall shape very good.  Moved out well, pushed 1 hard.  Just a tad steep in stop for me.   However would love to see her in full coat.

Open  (6,2)

1st  Bluck’s  Phreelancer Chill Phactor for Elshajo.
Three year old Blue merle male of lovely colour.  Well placed ears.  Balanced head with well placed stop.  Good eye, nicely moulded foreface giving a melting expression but no mistaking his sex.  Good reach of neck leading to good angulations for & aft.  Level topline carried well on the move.  Moved out with reach and drive.  Carried his tail low at all times.  Presented to perfection, never put a foot wrong.   Must have a very bright future which I shall follow with interest.  Best of Breed.  Went onto Pastoral Group 4 Congratulations.

2nd  Beare’s  Jemspark Maid in Secret.
Sable & white bitch of lovely shape with ears bang on top & well used.  Balanced head, nice eye.  Moves very well, unfazed by the noise, just lacks coat.
