Rough Collie (Dogs)

Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge at their last Championship Show and the lovely gift which I will treasure.  Also a special thanks to the exhibitors for a quality entry and to my two stewards to keep the ring going.

Veteran Dog (3 entries)

  1.  Collino’s WICANI ALTITUDE AT IMAGINIST, 9 years old tricolour, has a lovely masculine head with a well blunted clean wedge, correct muzzle, strong underjaw, correct eye colour, lovely mouth, correct ear placement.  Lovely bone, superb reach of neck, correct shoulder placement.  Is well coated and in A1 condition, good hindquarters with well let down hocks and powerful on the move.  Correct tail carriage, has excellent movement and moved with drive.  Was excellently presented and pleased to award him the Reserve Dog CC, Beat Veteran Dog.   Also went Best Veteran in Breed with agreement with my co-judge Steve Barrett.  Was pleased to see him go Best Veteran in Show under Best in Show Judge, Stella Clark.
  2.  Cronk’s CH. CHELBORN STORY TELLER, 7 years old Tricolour, first time in Veteran, unlucky to meet winner in top form.  Has a good flat skull, strong jaw, good balance of head, strong muzzle, correct mouth.  Has lovely bone, dark eyes with good expression, correct ear placement, lovely reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, was well coated and in good condition.  Good hindquarters, good topline and nice body.  Has excellent movement and also moved with drive.  Was presented excellently.

Minor Puppy Dog (2 entries)

  1.  Blake’s OAKLEY IMAGINE DRAGONS AT CORYDON (IMP CHE), 6 months old tricolour, has a lovely head and expression, correct muzzle, lovely dark eyes, correct ear carriage, nice scissor bite, lovely bone, superb reach of neck, good shoulder placement, in lovely coat and condition for his age.  Superb hindquarters, lovely top-line, nice body, correct tail-set.  Was pleased to award him Best Puppy Dog and eventually Best Puppy in Breed judged jointly with my co-judge, Steve Barrett.  Was delighted to see him go Best Puppy in Show under BIS judge, Stella Clark.  Will watch with interest in the future.
  2. Skinner’s LADNAR MAKEITHAPPEN FOR NIKAL  7 months old blue merle.  Has a lovely head, dark eyes with lovely expression, lovely balance and combination of skull and fore face, correct mouth,  nice strong underjaw.  Has nice bone, correct ear placement, good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement.  Coat of correct colour and in good condition.  Has good hindquarters, correct tail set.  Good top line and body.  Just needs to settle down on the move.  Was excellently presented.

Puppy Dog (1 entry)

    1.   Randall’s LADNAR MAKEMEAWINNER, 7 months old blue merle, litter brother of 2nd in Minor Puppy class.  Has a lovely masculine head, correct eye expression and colour, correct mouth, good strong muzzle, correct ear carriage, lovely reach of neck, correct shoulder placement.  Coat of correct colour of blue with neck having a lovely white collar.  Has good hindquarters, correct movement, good tail set and carriage.  Lovely top line and was excellently presented.  Although stood alone was a worthy winner.

 

Junior Dog (3 entries)
1     Cooper’s KELEKONA HEARTS OF GOLD, 17 months old sable & white, has a lovely         masculine head, dark eyes, has a lovely expression, strong muzzle, good underjaw, correct ear carriage, has good reach of neck.  Good shoulder placement, nice bone, correct front, coat in good condition, good hindquarters, nice body, good top line, correct tail carriage, was well presented.
2.    Perrott’s GATAJ LIGHTNING FLASH, 13 months old, sable & white, has a good masculine head, dark eyes, strong jaw, correct mouth, correct ear carriage, lovely bone, good reach of neck, correct lay back of shoulder.  Coat in good condition.  Has good hindquarters, correct tail carriage, has a good body, moved well and was well presented.

Yearling Dog (2 entries)

  1. Holmes & Lusty’s BLAMORDER GOLD PLATED, 17 months old dog, sable & white, one I have liked from the ringside and was not disappointed.  Has a good masculine head, dark eyes, good pigmentation, strong muzzle, correct ear carriage, lovely temperament, nice bone, correct shoulder placement, superb reach of neck, coat in good condition.  Just needs more length at moment, has good hindquarters and movement, correct length of tail, good top line, nice body and excellently presented.  Although stood alone, was a worthy winner.

Novice Dog (1 entry)

  1.    Skinner’s LADNAR MAKEITHAPPEN FOR NIKAL 

Graduate Dog (4 entries)
1.    Hanson’s Jards Ring Presence, nearly 3 years old sable/white, has a lovely masculine head, good flat skull, nice strong muzzle, correct eye expression, good ear carriage, correct scissor bite, good front, lovely bone.  Superb reach of neck, correct shoulder placement.  In excellent coat and condition.  Good hindquarters.  Has excellent movement.  Must watch tail carriage on the move.  Good top line and excellently presented. 

2 White’s PHREELANCER PHEDERAL AGENT AT MEJOLA  2 years old, tricolour.  Has a good masculine head with dark eyes, good eye expression, correct ear placement and good mouth.  Good bone, lovely reach of neck, correct shoulders, nice body, good topline, in excellent coat and condition, has good hindquarters. Correct tail set.  Preferred movement of winner today.  Was excellently presented.

3.   Vogan’s LUMINOUS MOON OVER LENOSANN

Postgraduate Dog (1 entry)

  1.    Chaplin’s TAKHISIS LYSANDER, 2 years old sable and white.  Has a lovely masculine head, good flat skull, smooth outline, correct muzzle strength, lovely dark eyes, correct mouth, lovely bone, correct ear carriage, lovely reach of neck.  Good layback of shoulders. In excellent coat and condition, good angulation, correct tail set, has good movement, excellent top line.  Was excellently presented.  Although stood alone was a worthy winner.

Mid Limit Dog (1 entry)

  1.    May’s CAMANNA CAREERCHANGING FOR MAQUEEBA  4 years old dog, has a lovely masculine head, correct strong muzzle, good combination and balance of skull and fore face, lovely dark eyes and good expression.  Correct mouth, good bone, correct ear placement, good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, in excellent coat and condition.  Has good hindquarters, good movement.  Tail set a little high, good topline, well presented.  Although stood alone, a worthy winner.

Limit Dog (8 entries)

  1. Milligan & Marley’s ALFSDEN HE LIVES IN YOU, 2 years old blue merle.  Has a lovely masculine head, correct eyes with a nice expression, balance and conformation of skull and foreface as required, correct mouth, correct ear placement, has excellent bone, superb reach of neck.  In excellent coat and condition and correct colour.  Correct shoulder placement, has good hindquarters.  Has excellent movement, good body and lovely topline.  Correct tail carriage.  Was excellently presented.  Headed a very good quality class.  One I have always like at the ringside and was not disappointed.
  2. Beaden’s MARVALAN SPIRIT OF ROCK (IMP POL), Another one I have always liked and was not disappointed.  2 years old tricolour dog, close up to winner.  Has also got a lovely masculine head, dark eyes with a lovely sweet expression, correct scissor bite, correct ear placement, lovely front, has excellent bone, superb reach of neck, correct shoulder placement.  In excellent coat and condition, has good hindquarters, is very sound but preferred the movement of winner today.  Correct tail carriage, good body and lovely topline.  Was excellently presented.
  3. Pryor’s AQUALITA WIND OF CHANGE

Open Dog (5 entries)

  1.  Benton’s CH. BROOKLYNSON EL DORADO Sh.CEx, 6 years old sable/white.  One I have always liked from the ringside and was not disappointed.  Has a lovely masculine head with well-blunted clean wedge, flat skull as required, strong muzzle, strong under-jaw.  Has dark eyes with good expression, correct ear carriage, correct mouth, lovely bone, superb reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, coat in excellent condition, good hindquarters, excellent movement, correct tail carriage.  Has a lovely topline and was excellently presented.  Was pleased to see him go Best of Breed after I awarded him the Dog CC, under BIS judge Stella Clark, and also Best In Show.
  2. Blake’s CORYDON POL ROGER, 4 years old blue merle.  Another one I have always liked.  Pushed hard for top spot, he also has nice masculine head with a good balance and combination of skull and fore face, nice dark eyes and lovely expression.  Well pigmented.  Correct mouth, correct ear placement.  Has good bone, lovely reach of neck, good shoulders, in good coat and condition, well let down hocks.  Has good movement and very sound.  Has a good topline and excellently presented.
