Scottish Collie Club CH Breed Club Show 27th May 2023

I would like to thank the committee of the above Club for the invitation to judge Bitches at their Championship Show. The ring was well laid out and of a good size. With an entry of 44 (11Abs ) all the bitches were well presented and a credit to their owners. One criticism would be the lack of upper arm in a few exhibits which hindered their front movement, also the breed standard Quote; the eye is of medium size, set somewhat obliquely, of almond-shaped unfortunately this was not the case in one or two exhibits. However the overall standard in Bitches was good and I was pleased with my winners especially Ch Jopium Love Heart JW SHCM  whom I awarded CC Bitch,  Now 8 Years of age she typifies the breed standard and is a credit to her owners. I was pleased to see Best in Show judge Mrs Janette Phillips awarded her Best in Show, Best Veteran in Show and my Res CC bitch Gataj Good Time Girl  being awarded Res Best in Show.

Minor Puppy Bitch  ( 2 )   1st Hodges, Jopium Love’s to Shine, shine she did a lovely s/w girl with a bright future, nice eye with ears right on top, excellent conformation with good bone, movement was true but needs to settle however this will come with maturity.  2nd MacDonald, Brilyn Look at Me, another s/w with a nice head pattern and good eye with ears well placed good overall shape, still only a baby, needs to be steady on the move.

Puppy Bitch  (5 / 2Abs)   1st  Brodie,  Starlenga all for It,  TRI of great presence lovely head excellent eye with ears right on top giving the desired expression so hard to find in a tri colour, excellent conformation, good spring of rib, good bone and nice turn of stifle moved well, pleased to award her best puppy bitch.   2nd  Lockyer, Gataj Someone You Loved,  S/W Lovely type,  head handles well excellent eye and ears correctly set, good bone excellent conformation good angles at rear just needs to settle on the move.

Junior Bitch ( 4 )  1st  Shipp,  Tremaro Kind of Magic,  S/W with excellent head qualities, correct almond shaped eye and ears well set good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good spring of rib with slight rise over loin excellent turn of stifle, putting this all together best mover in class.  2nd Collins,  Triburle Taboo, Tri with excellent qualities, head handles well with ears right on top, good spring of rib, good bone, excellent turn of stifle and well let down at rear, really needs to settle on the move.  3rd  Hutchings,  Riverside Song Thrills of Night at Scottrye.

Yearling Bitch ( 3 )  1st  McCarte,  Roughrigg One of a Kind,  S/W with an excellent head pattern correct stop, ears right on top giving a lovely expression, good spring of rib, nice bone, excellent conformation and well let down at rear moved best in class.  2nd  Wray-Ramsden, Takhisis Lady of Mystery, S/W head handles well with a good almond shaped eye and ears correctly set and on top, good shoulder into straight front, excellent conformation, good turn of stifle moved well.   3rd  Shipp, Jackinstar Sandra Dee.

Maiden Bitch ( 3 / 1Abs )  1st  Brodie,  Starlenga All For It,  Repeat.  2nd Hodges,  Jopium Love’s to Shine, Repeat.

Novice Bitch  ( 1 )   1st   Taylor,  Elshajo if by Magic of Bryany,  S/W  correct almond shaped eye good angles at shoulder into straight front, good spring of rib, good overall shape however did not want to move today.

Graduate Bitch ( 2 )   1st  Welsh,  Thistlewing Magic Lady, S/W  head handles well with ears well placed, good bone and well sprung ribs, good overall shape with a good turn of stifle, excellent on the move.  2nd  Taylor,  Elshajo as if by Magic of Bryany. Repeat

Post Graduate Bitch  ( 5 )  1st Iley,  Call me Dreamer in Blue for Ileyda Della Verde Scozia JW ( IMP ITA ) B/M Good head qualities ears right on top which she used non stop, good reach of neck, nice bone and excellent conformation, in excellent condition moved best in class.  2nd  McCarte,  Roughrigg Remember Me, S/W Another with good head qualities and ears correctly placed, good shoulder into straight front, good spring of rib, nice bone and well let down at rear, moved ok. 3rd  Hutchings,  Riverside Song For D’Luna at Scottrye  ( IMP ROM )

Limit Bitch  ( 6 / 2Abs ) 1st  Lockyer,  Gataj Good Time Girl, S/W  Excellent head qualities correct almond shaped eye with ears well placed giving the desired sweet expression, good angles at shoulder into straight front, nice bone, ribs well sprung, lovely conformation and turn of stifle moved best in class in excellent condition. Pleased to award her Res CC also ending up with Reserve Best in Show congratulations.     2nd  Melvin & Jopson, Lillyway Lemon Sparkle at Nithview,  S/W  Another with a well balanced head lovely eye and ears right on top well placed, good angles at shoulder into straight front, excellent conformation with a good turn of stifle, moved ok. 3rd  Wray-Ramsden,  Takhisis Lady of Illusions.

Open Bitch ( 9 / 4Abs )  1st Lockyer,  CH Paradise Girl Du Clos De Seawind for Gataj
( IMP FRA ) S/W  Excellent head correct stop and flat skull with a great eye and ears right on top, good shoulder angles and well sprung ribs, well off for bone excellent conformation and good angles at rear, moved best in class.    2nd  Blaikie,  CH Kourika Kover Girl  S/W  Another quality bitch with an exquisite head, lovely eye, good shoulder and spring of rib, back firm with a slight rise over the loins, good turn of stifle and well let down at rear , excellent on the move when settled. 3rd  Iley,  Arklethill Delilah at Ileyda. JW.
Veteran Bitch  ( 4/2Abs )  1st  Hodges,  CH Jopium Love Heart JW. SHCM, S/W A bitch I have admired since giving her best puppy bitch at Crufts in 2016 and at 8 Years of age has not lost any of her sparkle, she epitomises the breed standard what more can I say she was excellent on the move keeping a level top line I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC  with B.I.S. Judge awarding her Best in Show and Best Veteran in Show congratulations.    2nd  Brooker, Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian JW.  S/W  Another quality bitch of 10 Years who would teach some of the younger ones how to move she has a balanced head, lovely eye giving the desired expression, good bone, excellent conformation and good turn of stifle and well let down at rear, in excellent condition a credit to her owner.
