SMOOTH COLLIE CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN

My thanks to the Smooth Collie Club of Great Britain for giving me this opportunity to judge the breed at this level. It was a great honour to go over so many lovely dogs and I thank the exhibitors most sincerely for bringing them today. Some decisions were very hard to make.

1. Minor Puppy Dog ( No entries)

2.    Puppy Dog (1. 0a)
1. Thomas & Lusty BLAMORDER SIDE HUSTLE WITH MOURNEBRAKE 11month old tricolour of good size. Head well developed for his age. Clean wedge with correct stop. Neck well arched and angulation equal front and rear. Moved with drive, holding his topline.

3. Junior Dog (1. 0a)
1. Howard, Howard & Fort SHULUNE IMPERIAL INKHEART WITH CASATENTOLA 17 month old Blue Merle of good colour. Clean head with flat backskull , nicely arched neck into well angulated forequarters. Good bend of stifle with parallel hocks. Moved with reach and drive holding his topline. Well handled.

4. Post Graduate Dog (2. 1a)
1. Metcalf KOCZKODAN WELL I NEVER 21month Tricolour who is slightly longer cast. He has a nice dark eye . Was rather short of coat today and out of condition. Seemed a little reluctant to move around the ring, and appeared to be plaiting in front. I hope he will muscle up as he matures.

5. Limit Dog (4.0)
1. Wilson-Brain KOCZKODAN SWEET AS HONEY 6 year old tricolour. Not a big dog but carries himself with arched neck , deep chest and the maturity of his years. Level topline on the move with good angulation . Hocks parallel. Clean movement with drive and reach in class. Unfortunately in the challenge he was plaiting in front.
2. Howe LIZONI THE DRIFTER 2year old tricolour. Clean head with adequate stop, underjaw. Flat backskull. Ears placed and used well. Neck arched . Movement was ok and covered ground with good forward action and level topline. Still needs to mature.

6.  Open Dog (1.0)
1. Wensley CH CONSTELLA HAZY COSMIC JIVE 3 year old trico;our of good size. Presents a good outline,neck arched,  attentive and alert. Flat backskull, clean wedge with no flaring, well blunted muzzle. Angulation equal front and rear. Clean efficient movement with good drive from the rear. BD BOS

7. Veteran Dog (1.0)
1. Smith & Smith CH/MULTI CH WINTER IS COMING TO TENTOLA Almost 9 YEAR OLD Blue Merle who knows his job. Good head with decent stop and backskull . Stands with good outline, very masculine .  Moved well around the ring with reach and drive, thoroughly enjoying himself.

1. Benton & Bemelmans BLAMORDER DOUBLE OR QUITS OF OAKESTELLE-  10 MONTH OLD Blue Merle of beautiful colour. Head is well constructed with adequate well placed stop, ears correctly placed and well used giving her an alert inquisitive expression. Moved well around the ring with reach and drive. Topline was a little loose but that will come with maturity. A happy puppy.BPIB

10. Junior Bitch (3. 1a)
1. Rundle SHULUNE IMPERIAL BONNY BLU 17 MONTH Blue Merle  an attractive youngster with a dark eye , alert expression and clean head. Well angulated front and rear. Height to length ratio  was good  and she held her topline well on the move. Moved well with reach and drive . Her colour is a good blue but her black patch detracts slightly.
2. Cole & Fort SHULUNE IMPERIAL RUM PUNCH 17 month old tricolour. Litter sister to !. Appears slightly smaller than her sister but generally same remarks apply as she is well constructed with good angulation front and rear enabling her to move freely around the ring. Her head is clean and a well blunted wedge as the standard requires. I just preferred the movement of the winner today.

12. Limit  Bitch (4. 2a)
1. Rodgers BLAMORDER HIGH BROW 3 year old tricolour of good colour with rich tan markings. She has a balanced head with flat backskull. Arched neck leading to well angulated shoulders and good topline which she held on the move. She moved freely and with reach and drive.
2. Richardson KOCZKODAN SWEET DREAMS OF LIZONI 6 year old tricolour with a most attractive head. Attentive expression and ears well placed. Height to length ratio was good and gives elegant appearance with decent angulation. On the move she was not as balanced as the winner and her topline was a tad loose.

13. Open Bitch (2.0)
1.French INT/BEL/FR/NL/LUX/GER CH INDIGO AURA AGREE TO DISAGREE WITH BRECKAMORE 4 year old tricolour of excellent colour. Clean wedge head , flat backskull well rounded muzzle. Well placed ears which she used non-stop. Nicely arched neck leading into well angulated forequarters. Good topline which she held on the move. Went round the ring with well controlled movement. Nicely muscled. RBB RBOB
2. Benton CH BRACKENHAYE QUEEN OF HEARTS OF OAKESTELLE 5 year old tricolour. Head clean blunt  wedge with no flaring and well placed eye.  Well angulated front and rear , level topline which she maintained on the move. Seemed a little anxious at times which affected her attention. Good movement. Well handled.

14. Veteran Bitch (5. 1a)
1. Lusty CH BLAMORDER ICE CREAM DREAM 8 and  a half year old Blue Merle of good size and construction. She has a clean head with good eye and ear placement. Her neck is arched leading to lovely angulated shoulders. Topline is firm and stifles well bent. She has ring presence and pays full attention to her handler which shows in her stance. Moved round the ring with a light free stride with lovely forward reach. BB BOB BVIB and in agreement with my co-judge  BIS BVIS
2, French CH WYNELE ALICE BLUE GOWN WITH BRECKAMORE 8 year old Blue Merle of excellent colour. Well  proportioned and constructed. Lovely arch of neck. Clean head . Good angulation of shoulder with well bent stifle and correct topline  gives her an elegant outline. Maintains her topline on the move but she was not quite as true in movement as the winner.
