London Collie Club Ch Show 7 June 2026
Collies (Smooth)

Many thanks to London Collie Club for the invitation to judge Smooth Collies at their championship show and for their wonderful hospitality and welcome. I was delighted with the quality entry and would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered and for accepting my decisions in a sporting manner. I was later very pleased to see the Smooths go on to win BIS, res BIS and BPIS under Cathy Howard. A big thank you also to my lovely steward Julie Sewell.

Puppy Dog
(1 – absent)

Junior Dog (2)
1st – French & Swann’s Breckamore Bobby Dazzler at Swanndale, a very well balanced and handsome sable male with plenty of ring presence, masculine well moulded head with good head planes and correct stop, flat skull, nicely filled in foreface, almond shaped dark eye giving a pleasing expression, correctly tipped ears which are well placed and used, lovely length of neck, well proportioned in body with good bone, well angulated front and rear, good spring of rib and depth of chest, he still needs to develop but for now all is ‘present and correct’ for his age, moved out very well from all angles, CC and BOS
2nd – Lusty’s Blamorder Masterpiece, blue merle who is aptly named as he shows so much promise, I loved his size and shape, his head is balanced with good moulding, a little fuller in eye than the winner, good ears, so well constructed and well developed for his age with excellent spring and depth of chest, good angulation in front and rear, needs to settle a little in movement but I will be interested to follow his progress, BPIS

Post Graduate Dog (1)
1st – Atherton’s Blamorder The Con Is On at Casiat, tricolour dog of good size, very masculine, balanced in head although a little strong in skull and eye a little round, well tipped ears, well built with strong body, deep chest and good spring of rib and good length to his body, a little straight in upper arm, well angulated behind and moved soundly, excellent coat texture and jet black in colour, really lovely temperament

Limit Dog (3)
1st – Howe’s Lizoni The Drifter, a very masculine and sound male giving an attractive outline, his head is balanced but lacking a little in underjaw and a little deep through, pleasant eye, good ears, excellent fore chest, spring of rib, length of body and angulation, a well very proportioned dog, moved well although a little wide behind
2nd – Rodgers’ Blamorder Mischief Maker with Jerdoni, a very handsome sable male with some style, attractive make and shape, his head is balanced and clean, nicely shaped eye giving a pleasant expression but I would prefer better head planes, well developed in body and bone with good spring of rib and depth of chest, adequate front angulation and well angulated at the rear, tends to crab a little, otherwise moves freely and effortlessly
3rd – Atherton’s Blamorder The Con Is On at Casiat

Open Dog (2)
1st – Warren & Lusty’s Coldelee Jupiter Rises with Blamorder, a beautifully made male, clean head with good head planes and pleasant eye, a little broad and deep in skull, correctly tipped ears, well constructed on good legs and feet, sound in body with good angulation and very sound on the move showing a good reach and drive action
2nd – Thomas & Lusty’s Blamorder Side Hustle with Mournebrake, tri a little stronger in skull than the winner and it was a close decision between the two, nicely moulded and balanced head with well filled foreface, excellent head planes, excellent ears, good neck and topline, strong in body and bone, moved out well, a little wide behind

Champion Dog (4 – 1 absent)
1st – 1st – Hayward & Norman’s Ch Wynele Double Trouble at Foxearth, a top class sable male, I love his overall balance, make and shape and he has the rare combination of substance and elegance, clean and well balanced head with correct head planes, correct stop and no depth through, excellent ears which are well set and well used, almond shaped eye giving a kind expression, correct reach of neck and strong and firm topline, so well angulated front and back which is confirmed when he moves sideways with perfect balance of reach and drive, correct front movement, I would just like a little more positive hind action, res CC
2nd – Wensley’s Ch Int Multi Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic, tricolour who is slightly smaller than the winner but still very masculine and very well put together, his head is balanced and skull flat, I would prefer a better shaped eye, good reach of neck, well angulated front and back, well developed in body and bone and moved with positive action from all angles
3rd – Martin’s Ch Sturtmoor Arceus’s Legacy

Veteran Dog (3 – 2 absent)
1st - Lusty’s Ch Am GCh Can GCh Cardross Red Dirt Road to Blamorder, big upstanding sable male of 11 years and looking fresh and alert, a credit to his owner, clean well balanced head, beautifully moulded foreface, good underjaw and his head planes are level and flat, stop could be slightly better defined, almond shaped and obliquely placed eye giving a very kind expression although his eye is on the small side, well angulated front and back, solid in body and good bone, strides out very well and is completely true coming and going, I would prefer a tighter coat

Puppy Bitch (2 – 1 absent)
1st - Thomas’ Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake, just 6 months old tri girl who needs time to develop, very feminine, needs to fill in foreface, ears very light, needs to develop in body and bone, moderate in angulation, hind action true but has a tendency to hackney in front movement, very sweet in temperament

Junior Bitch (5)
1st – Wensley’s Blamorder Starstruck by Versatilis, a well balanced sable shown in excellent condition, clean head although a little long in foreface compared to skull, needs to fill in muzzle, nice eye and excellent ears, well constructed in body and bone and well angulated front and back, moved out well from all angles
2nd – Jefford & Rixon’s Breckamore ‘s Eye Catcher for Wizzizz, tricolour with a jet black shiny coat and a nice make and shape and she is an eye catcher, good balance of head and a pleasant eye, excellent ears, a little steep in upper arm otherwise well angulated, good reach of neck and well built in body, coat of good texture, tends to crab a little
3rd – Russell’s Koczkodan In My Heart
Res – Jerrett’s Coldelee Busy Bein Fabulous
VHC – Thomas’ Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake

Post Graduate Bitch (1)
1st - Thomas’ Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake

Limit Bitch (3 – 1 absent)
1st – Rundle’s Shulune Imperial Bonny Blu, alert blue girl of excellent colour, well balanced and clean head with no depth through, flat skull, good ears, nice eye giving a pleasing expression, adequate front angulation, I would prefer slightly more neck to balance the picture, she is so well built in body with perfect chest and ribs, good bone, good hind angulation, moved soundly from all angles
2nd – Rodgers’ Blamorder High Brow with Jerdoni, tricolour with appealing outline and very well handled, clean and well balanced head but I would prefer more underjaw and her eye is a little full, good ears, good neck and topline, moderate angulation, so well constructed in body and good bone, moved out well with free and easy action

Open Bitch (3)
1st – Benton’s Ch Blamorder Double Or Quits of Oakestelle, blue merle with a lovely clear colour and very nicely marbled with black, just as the standard asks for, her head is balanced although a little wide in back skull, well carried and used ears, very alert to her handler, adequate front angulation and enough neck, strong and firm topline, nicely developed in body and bone and gives a pleasing overall picture, very well angulated at the rear, strides out really well with reach and drive, tended to crab a little, res CC
2nd – Jerrett’s Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW, appealing sable with an attractive make and shape and she pushed the winner, she is very feminine and a lovely type, well balanced head with flat skull and good ears, good reach of neck, firm and strong topline, good spring and depth of chest, nicely angulated and moved out well
3rd – Koczkodan Sweet Dreams of Lizoni

Champion Bitch (3)
1st – French’s Ch Breckamore Believe It Or Not, tricolour with class and quality, she is beautifully constructed, very clean in head with flat skull and moulded foreface, good ears which she was reluctant to use today, excellent neck, topline and angulation, moved out well with reach and drive
2nd – Lusty’s Aus Ch Talcott Tiffany Stalker of Blamorder, blue merle with great ring presence, she stands and demands attention, I love the way she holds herself, balanced in head although a little deep through and skull recedes slightly, enough neck, strong and firm topline, well built in body and bone, nicely angulated front and rear and moves with positive and tidy action from all angles
3rd – Benton’s Ch Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle

Veteran Bitch (4 – 2 absent)
1st – Lusty’s Ch Blamorder Ice Cream Dream, the star of the show, at almost 10 years old she belies her age, so very well balanced throughout with lovely make and shape and topped by a feminine, clean and well balanced head, nicely moulded foreface, good underjaw, well shaped eye giving a pleasing expression, perfect ears and ear carriage, her colour is typical for her age and is well broken up with good marbling, alert and attentive, lovely reach of neck, strong and firm topline, excellent angulation front and rear, excellent fore chest, spring of rib and depth of chest and her proportions are spot on, moves out with reach and drive, so effortless, CC and BOB
2nd – Cowling’s Koczkodan Serenity, tricolour with excellent body construction and angulation, strong and firm topline, her head is balanced but recedes a little in skull, good ears but reluctant to use them, so well built in body and moves with reach and drive from all angles, jet black coat
