Rough Collie Breed Notes

Just a fairly quiet weekend for some, what with the excessive heat and risk of fires, many took time off  but a message from Julie Edwards confirmed a lovely win for her Beldones Mojito of BOB from Jackie Dix and PG3 from Amy Clinton. Julie also won her class with Beldones Rich Velvet ending a good day  at Oswestry Open Show.
Meanwhile, London & Provincial had organised a dual Open show along with support from the RSTCA provided many with an enjoyable day at Bearley Village Hall, with 2 Open shows.
The RSCTA  was allocated a separate ring for anyone interested in the RKC Bronze Good Citizen Testing, Character Assessment and to the delight of many a “Have A Go Hooper’s “Session. Which according to all participants was most enjoyable by both Roughs, Smooths and other breeds.
Apologies in advance if some of these results are not correct but without a catalogue, and looking at the input from L&P web pages some are/were conflicting.
Show 1 had a published entry of 44 for judge Stacy Steven, who as we all know holds the Cambrogan affix and lives in Scotland. There were the obvious absentees, but not too many of them and she was scheduled to judge not only the Roughs but a nice entry of 25 Smooths, Best In Show was to be judged by Tony Iley (Ileyda)
Veteran was the first class, won by Stefani Flower with her shaded sable import, Androma Dreamcatcher at Serenlas;  Alone in MP was Corydon The Visionary, Corydon World Vision won Puppy; Junior was Serenlas Catching Stars, one bred by daughter Karla for Stefani; Alone in PG was Megan Gatt with Imaginist Superior Sam with Bearven. Sue & Dave Randall, just back from a long holiday in Thailand won Limit with Ladnar Call My Name and Open went to the only entrant, Cathy Cooper and Kelekona Hearts of Gold.
Best Dog was Ladnar Call My Name, with Kelekona Hearts of Gold in Reserve. BVD was Stefani with her import. BPD went to Corydon The Visionary.
A few more ladies graced their classes, with Veteran falling to Hannah Lyall and her Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas.  Ormordha Lunar Eclipse, in the ownership of Allsopp (all the family) and Georgie Moore and partner was alone in MP; Puppy went to Stefani and Serenlas She’s On Trend, Junior saw Janine Hanson winning with her tri, Jards Cudmirrah Special. PG went to Megan Gatt and Wicani Belladonna for Bearven. Limit had Blamorder Any Dream Will Do, winning for Michael Wensley and Abby Lusty and winning Open, although alone was Starlenga Nina Simone for Jayne Llewellyn who then won BB. In reserve was Hannah Lyall and her Veteran lady who was also BVB. BPB was the MP winner for Allsopp & Moore.
BOB went to Dave & Sue with Vince, Ladnar Call My Name, Reserve BOB to the blue, Starlenga Nina Simone. BPIB to Ormordha Lunar Eclipse, BVIB to Hannah.
Show 2 had roughly the same entry for both the Roughs and Smooths, and here the judge was listed as Monet Renison, (Zaniah Shetland Sheepdogs), Tony Iley for Smooths and Lynda Nicholas for BIS
Class results were similar, with the following gaining classes: Corydon The Visionary, Corydon World Vision won their classes, Junior went to Chelborn Look At Me. Megan Gatt won her class whilst Ladnar Call My Name also won Limit. Open went to Cathy Cooper and Kelekona Hearts of Gold who was then declared BD with Vince in reserve spot. BPD was Corydon The Visionary. Best Veteran Dog at this show was the family Allsopp with Aqualita It’s A Miracle.
There was a Baby Puppy class, judged by Monet but only a single entry, Salsina Sweet Child Of Mine took this for Jayne & Carl Llewellyn.
Veteran went to Hannah Lyall and her sable, MP was another good win for Sophie who missed show 1 but managed to arrive in time for Show 2 and also won Puppy.
Janine repeated her win from Show 1 to take Junior, whilst Salsina Blushing Rose won for Jayne & Carl in PG. Only 1 in Limit and this was Kiss Me Kate di Cambiano at Fivejays. Open went to Carl & Jayne with Avonfair Secret Love Letter to Salsina. BB was a lovely win for Hannah and Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas who was also declared BVB with Jayne and Avonfair Secret Love Letter to Salsina in Reserve.
BOB completed lovely day for Hannah as she was declared BOB, with RBOB to the Open winner. BVIB was automatically won by Hannah, adding a few more spectacular rosettes to her haul. BPIB was Sophie and her Takhisis Lady Is A Tramp.
BIS, judged by Lynda Nicholas went to the Smooths and other awards, with just Sophie Flying the flag for the roughs as the smooth also took BVIS for Marianne
It would appear there is no end to the talents of the Show manager, Michael Wensley as I understand that quite a few Committee Members (and exhibitors) were held up on their homeward journey due to an accident on the local motorway! As many in their cars were at a  standstill, I understand that Michael delivered Cake and Goodies to those stuck – well done to all concerned.
