Firstly, news affecting those attending the dual CC shows at SKC as it has been announced that there will be an increase in the parking charges, levied by The Royal Highland Showground and will now be £10 per vehicle, per day. Payment can be made, preferably by card but cash will be accepted. Please note, the SKC do not receive any income from this increase. There is the outside possibility that a new Ch could be started & finished in one weekend as the SCC Ch show follows on the Sunday.

Other news from Christine Collins, Secretary of Collie Club of Wales concerns the “Official” retirement, at the club’s AGM of their long-term Treasurer, Phyllis Parry (Maydill)  Phyllis has been  keeper of the club’s money with the CCW and served on Committee some 45 years, primarily as Treasurer, donating to the club with Raffle prizes, cakes, organising the kitchen just to mention a few tasks she voluntarily took on. Although not able to attend shows in recent years, due to health issues, where an operation on her knee was not as successful as all would have hoped, Phyllis always ensured that gifts for BIS and BPIS at the Championship show continued as her late husband Dillwyn insisted. CCW noted her retirement with a present of a new, all singing & dancing laptop, which, when mastered it is hoped to keep Phyllis up to date with all the news.

The usual notification concerning the Cheshire County show held on Tuesday 18th June at Tabley, Knutsford has been received. All information can be found on the Fosse Data site with local judges officiating over both rough and smooth classes, namely Ray Wilkinson and Bill Rogerson both Officers at Lancs & Cheshire CC.

Collie Association hosted a very interesting seminar last weekend on Dog First Aid and Training at Dudley Kingswionford Rugby Club and was  well attended and everyone learnt something helpful in case problems arose with their pet. Everyone went home, following an interesting day and a Certificate for completing the course. Light refreshments were available and it is intended to hold another similar event, this one hosted by a local ring craft society and is planned for September, so if you missed out on this, book now as any canine first aid, burns, bleeding, heat issues, choking and other subjects are all covered and your knowledge may well help another.

More Open show news again from Stefani Flower who packed her show kit and went to a fairly local show, Aberystwyth & District CS  with her Serenlas Truly Scrumptious and annexed BPIB, BOB and PPG3 from judge Felicity Snook

Baginton was the venue for 2 shows held by the Smooth Collie Club of GB and this club also schedules classes for Roughs.
The judge for Roughs at Show 1 was Pauline Luxmore-Ball with an entry of 37 and at Show 2, Sheila Beeney had an entry of 35.

As usual although the overall results differed, some class were the same and taking the honours at the first show was Val & John Geddes with Ingledene Sno Wanda who won BB and BOB. Best Dog went to Ch Mejola Fate and Fortune Sh Ex who was also Best Veteran Dog and Mejola Top Gun took BPD both owned by Jo White
Reserve BD was another Veteran, Ch Brooklynson El Dorado Sh Ex for Marianne Benton. Reserve BB was Ch Brooklynson Jayne Russell of Oakestelle VW, another Veteran and owned by Marianne.
Penny Sewell officiated for BIS and Ingledene Sno Wanda won over the Smooth, BPIB was Mejola Top Gun, beating his sister Mejola The Special One with Jards for Janine Hanson but was beaten for BPIS, BVIS went to Ch Mejola Fate and Fortune

At Show 2, and Sheila Beeney, BD was Ch Brooklynson El Dorado ShEx with Mejola Top Gun taking both RBD and BPD. Best bitch was another entry from John & Val, this time the Veteran lady, Ingledene Lace n Grace, with RBB going to Jo White’s Mejola Main Event and BPB was Aaronwell Abel Mabel for John Congdon and Sue Hawkins. BOB went to John & Val; RBOB to Marianne and her Veteran boy; BPIB to Mejola Top Gun
Cathy Howard (Shandlemain)  judged BIS and awarded this to the smooth and the only awards taken by the roughs was BVIS for the BOB sable rough and Val.
