A few good wins for our breed have been recorded and results of a Club Open Show and an AGM are reported here, so, off we go
Melissa Lockyear and her Gataj All That Glitters went to one of her local shows, Torquay & District Open show and came home with BOB, BPIB, Adult G4, Pastoral Puppy G1 and adding the icing on a super day, Best Puppy In Show All Breeds. The judges involved were Marcia  Dillon (Runforest) for breed and Group, then BIS judge Sally Duffin (Longdorham). Also attending and gaining RBOB was her other exhibit, Gataj I Am Maximus.
Miranda Blake and Jo Williams entered another Open show local to them both, where the judge was Jacky Cutler. Miranda, along with brother Julian (who went to practise his filming credentials, along with getting his Burger)  entered Newark and came home with Corydon Christiana took BPIB and PPG2  at 9 months, whilst Jo annexed BOB and G4 with Mejola Top Gun
British Collie held their AGM last week and a few changes for you all to note. New Secretary is Jayne Llewellyn (Salsina) whilst Duna, whose work for the BCC was generally acknowledged with grateful thanks, now holds the post of President, Jo Hodges remains as Treasurer, as does Geoff Duffield who is Chairman. There are just 6 existing members of Committee and these are listed as: Sue Beare, Sue Hawkins, John Congdon, Karen Johnston, Gill Whittaker and Shelley Skinner, all of whom will be ready to great you at the forthcoming Championship show where BCC will announce the winners of the Ladypark Puppy Trophy along with the entry of 38 rough dogs making 42 entries , 53 rough bitches making 61 entries, 11 smooth dogs making 11 entries, 16 smooth bitches making 16 entries and full results will be issued later.
On Sunday, Yorkshire CC had a different venue for their Open Show at Grenoside Community Centre, Sheffield, where the judges were: Roughs and Stacy Steven (Cambrogan); J Britton for Smooths, Sue Beare was allocated the Mixed Breed SAC classes with Marianne Benton making the final decisions for BIS.
The entry was issued as 57 roughs, 10 Smooths, 4 NFC, with Baby Puppy classes of 4 and the mixed SAC of 28 but with just 1 new entry and as usual, due to illness, coat loss and other factors resulted in quite a few absent.
The baby puppy class had just 3 present and was won by Brilyn’s Breckamore Crystal Embers this was followed by Special Beginners and winning this was Stregato Foolish Guy for Delseirios who also gained RBD. BD went to Takhisis Daggers at Dawn with Ladnar Call My Name taking BPD and Lynmack Starman at Lemivee was BVD. BB went to GIB Ch Serenlas Angel of Casatentola and RBB was Takhisis Lady of Mystery BW24 and BPB was Gemheid May’d of Gold for Stregato and BVB was Imaginist Willow Wren BOB went to Takhisis Daggers at Dawn and on the choice of Marianne Benton BIS went to the smooth Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW, RBIS to Daggers at Dawn, BVIS to Lynmack Starman at Lemivee. And at the time of writing, owner Alex Mills has let me know of this good win. BPIS was awarded to the smooth.
In the mixed breed SAC classes, judged by Sue Beare, the winners were: Ladnar Call My Name; Libanel Everlasting Desire and Lynmack Starman at Lemivee. I understand that when SAC classes are scheduled, there is a move to state that they should be “single breed”. We shall await this outcome with interest, one must remember that when adding up entries for these classes, only to count those actually present in the breed!
