6th June 2025

As promised, a quick catch up from Odile Hawkins Foy on the recent ENE, where many UK owners attended and some showed.
The judges were: Jo Hodges (Jopium) for the males with as good entry of about 75+ along with Jean Paul Kerihuel who was for the ladies.
Dog CACS, Idalehu Number One, RCACS Keyline Unforgettable both from the Open class all the information for breeding/ownership can be obtained from the site.
Bitches had Sunshine In Black du Clos de Seawind winning with Lara Croft of Emiber in Reserve. Junior male dog winner was Velvet Blue Sky du Clos de Seawind selected by Jo and Junior bitch winner was Valentine Day du Clos de Seawind, who was also Best Youth judged by Jean Kerfriden (FR)
Also, on catch up, the SAC results and full show results from YCC, hoping that Secretary, Chris Biggs, is now feeling better, she sent down a fully marked catalogue. This shows an entry of 42 Roughs and 12 smooths for Di Collino and Gina Stilwell respectively. BIS went to the smooth Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive for the Wensley family. RBIS was also a smooth. Lizoni The Drifter, BPIS to Ladnar Call My Name; BVIS to Multi Titled UK Ch Winter Is Coming to Tentola all these awards decided by Sophie Wray-Ramsden.  Lucy Mottram (Ponniz) had some well filled SAC classes and found her winners in Wicani Belladonna for Megan Gatt; Siluto Blue Wizzard at Amberwish for Yvonne Ross and Aqualita It’s a Miracle for Derek, Hazel and Isobelle Allsopp.
Now to a very interesting day at Newbury Showground, where a change in layout at Southern Counties resulted a quite small rings for many breeds. We all realise costs must be kept to a minimum bit reading quite a few comments, this recent change was not particularly well accepted by the exhibitors and with no benching but allowing room for gazebos etc, perhaps SCCA could possibly re-consider this layout for the future. STOP PRESS, a statement has been issued by SCCA, and wonderful to read they have taken “on board” many comments and have confirmed changes for 2026 are already under way including larger rings!
The judge for Roughs was Bill Browne-Cole, well known both at home and abroad, for his Wire Fox Terriers under the Travella affix and other breeds and although he is passed for BIS all breeds, currently on KC FAJ, he is not yet listed for the Pastoral Group only being passed for 2 breeds within our group. Probably one of the smartest dressed judges, Bill is based in Suffolk, this was his 3rd appointment for us, having made his debut at Belfast in 2019, followed by Blackpool in 2023.
The entry was 22 males and 42 bitches and according to Fosse results there were 9 absent.
With judging at 9.30 it was not too long before a delighted Stefani Flower was running around the ring, CC in hand followed by her sable boy, Androma Dreamcatcher at Serenlas (Imp Slovenia). This just a year from when Stefani brought him to the UK, he has a few placings to his name, including a RCC from Michelle Fort at Darlington last year. Sired by Androma Prince Caspian out of Touch of Gold von der Ischlerbahn and bred by A Sokalic and M Velepec and was born in September 2018, now just rising 7. He won the Open class of 5 with 2 absent. Taking another RDCC, was non-other than Vince, Ladnar Call My Name who had won Puppy. Other class winners were Melissa and her MP Gataj Time Will Tell; Her Prince of Sunlight Thrilled by The Difference at Gataj (Imp Hungary) won Yearling; Kelekona Hearts of Gold was alone in PG, Sophie won Limit with her Takhisis Daggers and Dawn. There were no Veteran boys entered.
Special Beginners was won by the only entry: Wicani Belladonna for Megan Gatt at her first Ch Show and although alone, she took the Best Special Beginner in Breed Award and set off for the Group Ring under Jill Peake but did not feature.
Veteran Bitch went to Marianne Benton and Ch Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle VW ShCex. Jane Margetts returned to the ring with a new Lynmead baby, Lynmead Designer Tipple for Collingvale to win MPB.  Lynmead Dresses The Stars of Sambreeze, who was 2nd in MP then won Puppy for Sheila Carlton. Melissa returned to the ring with Gataj All That Glitters to win Junior and Brenda Welsh had made a long journey from home in Scotland, won Yearling with Thistlewing Gold Mist. Also coming down from Scotland and showing in two breeds with her ASD, was Jo Hodges and Unusual Beauty des Conquetes de Don Juan at Jopium to win PG. Corydon Agatha Cristal and Cathy Cooper won a Limit class of 9. The star of the show, however, was the winner of Open. Slo Ch L’Incredibile Blu di Cambiano. Owned and bred by Maria Teresa Garabelli, but shown by a close neighbour, in Italy,  Andrea Vallerini who is no stranger to the UK big ring, having won the Terrier Group at Crufts this year with Mr S Sgura’s Jack Russell Terrier. Andrea has always had a “soft spot” for Kiara and she travelled with them for this event. Sired by Int Ch Jolly Roger Black di Cambiano out of Int Ch Roba Incredibile Blu di Cambiano and she was born in 2023. Interesting to note, should you look at her pedigree, her dam, Roba is a daughter of Ladnar Kissmaster (Ch Chelborn Kiss’n’Tell ex Samhaven Temptation Ladnar) mated to a full sister to Piaf. Taking another RBCC, also from the Open class, was Thistlewing Magic Lady, who won the same award when Bill judged at Blackpool where she also won both RCC. She is sired by Culbrae |Red Again out of Thistlewing Octavia and Brenda had to do a quick “lead change” as she already had her other charge, Thistlewing Gold Mist in the challenge.
BOB went to Andrea and Kiara but Andrea’s day was not complete, as not only was she short-listed in the adult group, judged by Dr Annukka Palheimo (Finland)  Andrea handled another Jack Russell for Mr Sgura to win G4 from Group Judge, Bill Browne-Cole.
Finally, I also noticed that both the CC winners have a connection to Slovenia, the dog came from there and the bitch holds a Slovenian Title and both were winning their 1st UK CC.
BPIB was another win for Vince and he then annexed PPG4 from Kimmo Mustoned to make it 2 RCC wins and 2 Group places within the week and a lovely message from Sue & Dave confirmed this result.

Please note there has been a change of judge for South Wales Kennel Association in October, it was Marianne Grindley, who has been replaced by Sam Wrisdale (Sachenda).
