Scottish Breeds Canine Society celebrated their 40th Anniversary Show at Lanark Agricultural Centre, now held over 2 days. Roughs were scheduled for Sunday 29th with Maxine Mellish (Demelewis)  in charge of her original entry of 17 males and 37 ladies but on the day,  there were 2 males and 7 ladies missing  and 2 new names to add to our 1st CC winner listing but not new handlers!
Although judging was listed as starting at 9am, Roughs were 2nd in the ring behind an entry of Deerhounds, but, some long time later, after the Show Manger arrived and apologised for the delay was Maxine was able to start on her entry.
With no MP entered, the first class of 3 was Puppy Dog, won by Morse, or to give him his full name, Mejola Endeavour for owner/ breeder Jo Williams. He then took the next class, Junior which had 2 entered.
Gemheid May’d Of Amber for Detillo and Rachel Tilley were alone in Yearling, as was Thistlewings Andromeda at Bracoisla and Chloe Shorten. Luminous Moon over Lenosann and the Vogan girls won Limit. Open had 4 entries with 1 absent and taking this was Natalia and Bo Skalin from Sweden with Lt Ch Skabona Sky has No Limit. Veteran was a lovely win for local boy, Lillyway Lattimer at Nithview, handled today by Mae Melvin but owned by Hazel Jopson. Special Beginners went to Chelborn Look at Me, owned by Mrs Thorne from Gloucester.
The CC, his first, went to Morse and Jo Williams. Sired by Corydon Christopher out of Mejola Special Reserve and he celebrates his 1st birthday on 1st April. The RDCC, and he already holds a few, was Luminous Moon Over Lenosann. Sired by Ch Phreelancer Chill Factor at Elshajo out of Lenosann Mystic Blaze at Drofgnal. Morse was declared BPD and Best Junior Dog, Theon was Best Veteran.
Now to the ladies, there were a few more entries here with Stefani Flower winning MPB with her Serenlas She’s On Trend. Puppy had Chelborn Blue Me Away for Vanessa Cronk and Isaac Preddy winning this class of 4. Junior went to Mejola Edge of Glory (also sired by Christopher). In Yearling Gemheid May’d of Gold for Stregato (sister to the Yearling dog) won this for Wendy Boyd and  Audrey McGill.
Roughrigg Ragnfrid won the Graduate class of 4 for her owner, Joan Barr, whilst Post Grad went to Val & John Geddes with Ingledene Connie McBlack. Limit was quite well filled class and this was headed by Michelle Davis and Jake Walsh’s blue girl, Wicani Bellissima Rosschell. Vanessa Cronk took Open with Ch Chelborn Tell Me Your Wish whilst alone in Veteran was Lenosann Black Cherry (to whom Maxine had awarded the RCC back in 2019)  Spl Beginners went to Beldones Dancing In The Dark at Bracoisla and Chloe Shorten
The BCC, her first, although she already holds a RCC won at Bournemouth last year from Robin Newhouse). Born in September 2024, bred by Angela & Keith Harvey, she is a blue merle. Sired by Wicani Raising the Bars out of Wicani Blue Myrobella.
The RBCC went to Vanessa and Ch Chelborn Tell Me Wish, a sable, sired by Ch Skabona The Gambler at Chelborn out of Chelborn That’ll Be A Wish and she was born in July 2022. BPB was Vanessa and Isaac’s Chelborn Blew Me Away.
In the final challenge for BOB, this went to Wicani Bellissima Rosschell handled as usual by Jake Walsh, and although still a puppy, Mejola Endeavour had to give way to the Bitch puppy, Chelborn Blew Me Away for BPIB.  However, Morse did annex Best Junior. Best Veteran went to Lenosann Black Cherry and Best Special Beginners to the brother of BPIB, Chelborn Look At Me (Ch Kourika You’ll Do For Me out of Ch Skabona If I Saw You in Heaven for Chelborn)
Although all stayed for their various Groups, judged by Frank Whyte (Kazvell) and Marion Waddell (Magregor) we did not feature.
