I hope you all have managed to survive this heat, it is not easy when temperatures climb to silly figures and it has an effect on everything
As we were made aware, the cancellation of the Windsor Dog Show (of which much has been written and will continue to be discussed) gave all time to reflect on one’s priorities. As a show, Windsor always has been a popular event and attracts entries from many especially some from Europe and one has to feel for the Show Committee, Judges (some on a first appointment) and exhibitors and dogs and made some of us recall the cancellation of Richmond show day when Diana, Princess of Wales had died and this show was also held on Crown Property at the Ascot Racecourse before its re-development.
As the temperature dropped a few folk ventured out to attend events, one of those being Dr Lynda Boyle who went to Honley Agricultural Show with the Timeless Destiny Star Actis Over Barrenclough who won BOB and her other exhibit, 10 year young Barrenclough Touch of Thyme JW ShCm took Vintage Veteran Class and then went on the win Best Vintage Veteran In Show under Breed /Group Judges Sue Forman and Jacquie Ward thus gaining a few points for her veteran Warrant and her photo in the local newspaper.

One advantage of a free weekend meant that final arrangements for various Breed Seminars / BAD Days could be finalised. For those of you interested, here is a short summary, so get your Diaries out and make a note of the following dates.
30th August, East Anglian Collie Association are holding a BAD/MCE and Group Mentoring session at Corydon. If interested please contact Miranda on mirandacorydon@gmail.com for further information
15th September, an evening session, organised jointly by London Collie & London and Provincial offer an “On-Line” BAD &  MCE, please contact Di Collino on Diana.collino@btinternet.com or Stephen Clarke on sclarke33@gmail.com
19th September, another interesting day is planned by Collie Club of Wales and Midland Collie Club with a MORNING session of BAD/MCE & Hands On (for eligible applicants) followed by their Open Show. By now many of you will have read the sad news that mother, Aileen Speding, founder of our Antoc kennel, died very peacefully, aged 98. Once I obtain more details they will be published
