Firstly, just an apology to the Brooker family, as I incorrectly reported on the BPD winner at the recent Border Union show, where I should have listed their young sable Jopium Just For You Corisian, who won Novice. Born 4th August 25, sired by Ch Roughrigg Rag’n’Bone Man out of Jopium Loves To Shine and bred by Jo Hodges
Now to Blackpool where we had another judge awarding CC’s to our breed for the first time. This was the very well-known Dianna Spavin, already approved for BIS all breeds and Group. I also noted that she was listed for judging the Pastoral Group today. Coming from the Dialynne Dynasty, founded by the Late Marion Spavin, who was also approved to judge our breed and completed a few appointments. Daughters Dianna and Melanie (now Raymond ) follow in her footsteps with Melanie, reaching success with her Australian Shepherds.
The entry was much smaller than expected, with just 19 males and 38 females originally entered. According to Fosse, there were no absentees for the dog classes  but showed 8 ladies missing
These included Veteran, for the Jones family with the tri boy, Brooklynson Black Diamond with Dancol. Open winner, Miranda with Corydon The Grandmaster, John Ritchie (Dykebar/Hollibell) handling for close friend, Michelle Mitchell with Avonfair Aloysius JW, who won Limit.  Gemheid May’d of Amber for Detillio for Rachel Tilley who won PG and John Congdon with his Aaronwell Asks The Question. There were no MP or PD entered.
After another examination, the CC, his first, went to Miranda and Corydon The Grandmaster. A Sable, known as Kaspar, he is a litter brother to Ch Corydon Clarissa. Sired by Corydon The Ringmaster out of Corydon Moonflower and he was born May 2020 and had a super puppy career ending with him taking the BCC Junior of Year Award along with a RDCC at Driffield from Cathy Proctor last year.
Although 2nd in Open was called in, who was Angela Harvey and her recent CC winning Afterglow Invocation, after deliberation, the RDCC went to John Ritchie handling for Michelle & Family who had won Limit. This sable boy is sired by  Ch Born To Be Quite Famous Lynmead out of Avonfair A Million Love Son and he was born in June 2023 and already has a few green cards to his collection
It is not often that both the CC and RBCC winners come from the same litter, but today, this happened as winning a 2nd CC, from Limit, was the well-known Jake Walsh, handling his and Michelle Davis charge, Wicani Bellissima Rosschell JW. The RBCC, a first big award for Mary & Denis Beardsworth, who are still in shock, their  entry, with Mary handling, was Wicani Dulicibella Gyda Maysinder, another blue who had won Post Graduate. These two ladies are l/s, sired by Wicani Raising the Bar (son of Afterglow Invocation) and out of Wicani Blue Myrobella, a CC winner, who on the day won her 1st CC handled by Jake Walsh last year.
Not to be outdone, young Jake, who is becoming very well known in Australian Shepherd circles annexed both RBD and BB from judge Derek Allsopp (No CC’s) but BOB in ASD fell to another collie exhibitor, Sophie-Wray-Ramsden with her Ch  Ch/bel/rs/bih Ch/h Gch Caronlea Celtic Fire Starter for Takhisis JW OSW Bw24 (ai) (IKC)
Back to the Rough Results, others to win classes were: Alex Mills and her Lemivee Connie’s Songbird (Spl Beginners and Puppy); Gataj Peggy Sue and Margaret Harrison won MPB, Janine Hanson took Junior with Jards Cudmirrah Special and Sophie won Open with her Bel Ch Takhisis Lady of Mystery Bw24/25 and taking Veteran was Ch Ingledene Sno Wanda for Valerie Geddes.
BOB went to Jake and his blue girl, BP to Alex Mills and Lemivee Connie’s Songbird. The Puppy Group was to be judged by Ernie Paterson and she also had an entry in the Spl Beginners Group under Sylvia Barkey from Canada. Best veteran went to the tri boy, handled by Ann Jones and this group had Kevin Young (Sunkap). Junior Group Judge was listed as Gavin Robertson and our entry was John Congdon and Aaronwell Asks The Question.
In the adult Pastoral Group, also judged by Dianna we, as a breed, we were not only short-listed but gained a creditable G4 for Jake and Wicani Bellissima Rosschell. Congratulations to all concerned
