Yorkshire Collie Club

Open Show May 27th, 2023

I would first like to thank the secretary and committee of Yorkshire Collie Club for inviting me to judge at their show and to also thank all of the exhibitors that gave their time to enter and show their dogs under me, some quality dogs to go over and was really nice to be judging in a different area of the country, I was so sorry I was unable to stay and watch the BIS judging, but really happy to see all my winners held their own in the challenges.

Smooth Collies

Veteran (2-1)

  1. Russell’s Ch Foxearth Fashion Guru for Koczkodan

Sable and white dog only 11/2 weeks off his 14th birthday, lovely parallel head planes, nice ears with correct tip, lovely oval eyes and still very alert. Muscular neck, just a tad short, so didn’t quite get a good arch. Well sprung ribs and deep chest, lovely level back and still holding muscle tone at rear and his age not affecting his movement. BVD/RBD/BVIB/RBVIS
Puppy (0-0)

Post Graduate (5-2)

  1. Jerrett’s Coldelee Eternal Sunshine

13 month sable and white B with lots to like, very feminine, good parallel head planes, almond shape eyes and well tipped ears, muzzle just needs to fill out a little more. Good length of neck into well laid back shoulder, muscular forelegs and well sprung ribs, level topline. Muscular rear thighs with good turn of stifle, good powerful movement around the ring. Definitely one to watch for the future BB/RBoB

  1. Koczkodan Midnight Sun JW

5 Y/old Sable and white B, Overall head was good, just not quite parallel on the head planes and really struggling to use her ears today. Strong neck and well sprung ribs, level topline, well-muscled rear thigh. Good feet. overall body was more filled out than one

  1. Glover’s Stormsett Serendipity

Limit (4-2)

  1. Cowling’s Koczkodan Serenity

6 Y/old Tri-colour B, nice parallel head planes, very alert, ears a little overly large and just slightly too wide, almond eyes. Strong, well arched neck and good spring of rib, an overall strong front end, topline just a little dippy on the day, nice rise over loins. Well-muscled thighs and good turn of stifle, strong hocks. At this point was the best moving exhibit.
Pushed hard for higher honours RBB

  1. Glover’s Stormsett Snow Crystal
    1. Y/old Bleu Merle B, good tipping to ears, strong neck. slight rise over loin, good turn of stifle and strong hocks, nice oval arched feet, tail of good length. Unfortunately, owner could not get best movement, but showed great improvement when a runner was used. She was very eager to please for everyone, giving lots of kisses while being gone over

Open (1-0)

1.  UK Port Esp Gib Ch Winter Is Coming to Tentola Re (imp)

    1. Y/old (but only 2 days off turning 7) Bleu Merle D, a real stand out example of the breed and handled to perfection, level head planes, oblique almond shape eyes, best ears and ear set all day just the right amount of tipping. Strong well arched neck into well sprung ribs, muscular hind thighs, good turn of stifle, strong straight hocks, nice feet. smooth, powerful, effortless drive on the move, definitely able to do what he was bred for, all day long BD/BOB/RBIS
